Food amazing, service amazing. Went for my birthday and the staff treated as if I was the president. First class all the way around. This place never disappoints. Thank you.
Perfect place for a date night or a spot to hang with a small group of friends. It can get fairly loud and a little crowded due to the popularity of the place but well worth the wait and the price. Their Fried Chicken Dinner is by far my favorite dish and totally a comfort scenario on a long day
We had a great dinner at Nick's. We always say the food is created by artists for our taste buds. A shout out to Frances our server. We had so many requests. Thank you! We had the deviled eggs. Next, we split the California salad with fried chicken on top. Oh my, the fried chicken was perfect, golden and crispy outside, juicy, and moist on the inside. Yum! My husband had the bistro special. Filet soup and kale salad combo. A family favorite. I ordered salmon with all spinach. They did not bat an eye on swapping out the mashed potatoes, which I so appreciate. I probably had a pound of perfectly sautéed spinach with almonds and garlic. My husband then finished it off with the lemon 7 layer cake, beautiful and moist! Great meal!
I've been to this restaurant many times and overall it's very good. The last two times I've been there though it's gotten off to a slow start because it's taken an inordinate amount of time to get a cocktail like over 20 minutes from the time we ordered it otherwise it was a very good experience and my food was cooked perfectly. I recommend the Seabass. Not sure why the bar is so slow they have a regular bar and then a bar dedicated to the dining room room and they were plenty of bartenders. They need to figure that out.
Cioppino is my favorite here - Italian seafood stew with fish, shrimp, clams, mussels, and a tasty light broth. Deliciousness As is the Chilean sea bass & salmon.
Nick's is one of my favorites spots in Long Beach. Brought some golfing buddies and they absolutely loved it. Food is always great and very good service, would recommend to everyone.
The first time there had a reservation for 4 at 8:00 pm on Easter Sunday and was promptly seated. The server was great and attentive. We started with the shrimp taquitos, and they were delicious. We had the fried chicken sandwich, cheeseburger, steak with baked potatoes, and French dip. Everything was so good. The food was cooked perfectly. Again, the server was very attentive and suggested dessert. We finished with the warm butter cake and it was really good. Topped with vanilla ice cream and berry compote. I highly recommend this restaurant. 5 stars all the way!
Nick’s food and service doesn’t disappoint! Menu options are great, and they’ll take a classic comfort dish such as a meat loaf to a gourmet degree. Service is impecable too. Worth every dollar you spend here in every aspect! They have my respect and heart! ♥️
The great reviews drove me to this place. Initially, everything went well. We walked into the restaurant and my partner and I were sat immediately at a table for 6 after passing a few tables that were meant to sit 2. After being sat, we were told our waiter Ben would be with us shortly. Shortly quickly became more than 15 minutes without a single person stopping by. The restaurant seemed very well staffed and I made eye contact with multiple employees. We received no water or a single interaction from the multitude of staff that passed us by. We decided to leave around the 20 minute mark. Immediately after standing up, the staff quickly came to grab the menus we didn't get the opportunity to order from and wished us a good night. This may be a misunderstanding, however, it seemed as if they were waiting for us to leave. I did want to inform others of the unfair treatment that was received. Enjoy at your own privilege.

Ordered a simple hamburger. Placed order prior to surrounding tables and food came way after. Hamburger was dry for medium well. Had potential but didn't live up to that.

We made reservations over a week in advance to celebrate our Anniversary at Nick's. I'd done some research on the Long Beach area since we're not familiar. The reviews and pictures did Nick's justice! We both had their dinner "Bistro Plate" because we had a big brunch earlier. The petite filet was done perfectly and was tender and flavorful resting on garlic toast and some garnish. I LOVED the slaw-like salad and the butternut squash soup was amazing (my wife, who always orders it wherever it's offered, thought it was wonderful). We had a half carafe of Napa Cab Sav and were looking at the dessert menu when our delightful server brought a complimentary chocolate chocolate chip cake with a candle! I loved that and we still ordered their pumpkin dessert--glad we did! Our server finished us off with a hand-written and staff-signed Anniversary card. They didn't miss a trick!
The road noise was a minor nuisance as bikers seemed to prefer 2nd Street over everywhere else, and the place was lively, so quiet and intimate it wasn't, but classy and delicious it was! We will go back.
Parking: The lot of the back alley to the west is free Sundays.
