This is truly a gem of a hole in the wall!! Almost literally, and I say that with respect and appreciation. This cute little eatery is easy to miss, being tucked in a very small strip mall (if it even qualifies as that!) between a small pharmacy and a laundromat, just south of the Arco on the corner of PCH and Pacific. But once you have eaten here, boy oh boy is it hard to forget!I come here about once every other week when I'm on a regular work schedule. Became hooked immediately with their unique bahn mi sandwiches and their pate chaud. Now I'm completely obsessed with their plant-based shrimp spring rolls and their grilled pork bun bowl. That bowl is the perfect balance of light and filling, flavorful and refreshing. It is one of my lunch go-to options. And the plant-based shrimp rolls are AMAZING. Obviously I'm not vegan, but this is an item that I enjoy so much despite it all.I have yet to try their pho. Maybe one of these days. They do have seating inside, but no restroom. Also, parking lot is small and shared, so I avoid coming during peak lunch hours, usually after 1 to pick up my food, and I've had no issues.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, flavorful too!Parking: Parking lot is pretty small and shared with a pharmacy, laundromat and discount store.

One of the best banh mi I've had in a very long time! Extremely delicate and intricate layering of meat with fresh herbs and onions and spicy green pepper! All homemade and use of barbari bread was great, although I would be interested in seeing how good this could be with fresh baguette! Love their expansive menu and drink list! I want to come back to try the blue crab, the drink menu with the cool tea lattes and also the pate entree!!

What an amazing Vietnamese iced coffee and excellent saffron fish bowl with exotic combination of vegetables in vermicelli salad. Also a memorable sesame Latte.

We went here recently and the food was amazing! I tried the pork banh mi and it was one of the top 2 Vietnamese sandwiches I have ever had. The bread was perfect (thin and crunchy). The meat to the bread ratio was definitely on point. I can eat it every day, it was that good. I also tried the pork vermicelli and it was also very light and delicious. My husband had the oxtail pho. He said it was also one of the best that he's had. We cannot wait to come back and try more dishes. The person who works at the counter is very friendly and welcoming. She was knowledgeable about the menu and was very helpful. I wish we live closer because I would come here every day. They serve truly delicious traditional home-made comfort Vietnamese food and some with creative flares that make this place quite unique.

What a gem of a restaurant. The food is extremely satisfying and sesame dinette adds something unique and different to traditional dishes. For example the pho dip sandwich is really good. Who doesn't love a good beef dip sandwich? Combine that concept with pho and you get this extremely satisfying sandwich. Hard to describe and it could have gone in many different directions but the way that sesame dinette took it was novel and tasty. The pho dip had a deeper and beefier soup base than the pho broth. The meet in the sandwich was thinly sliced but satisfying and the bread was mildly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The proportion of beef to bread was pretty good and it made for a great mouthful with each bite. I do think that there is some room to add an acid element or something like horseradish sauce possible? Sriracha mayo? Something to accompany or a quick way to add flavor to each bite. The pho was great. The noodles were thin and flat. The soup base was slightly sweeter than the typical broth. The cuts of meat were excellent and every ingredient used was clean and fresh. The temperature of the soup was excellent as well. Overall I thought that they did an excellent job and the food was worth every penny.

Casual, yummy, elevated Viet food, in a random mini-strip mall. I met up with a friend there for a Friday lunch. We shared the Pork noodles and the French Dip, both were delicious! The entree portions are on the smaller side, so I would recommend also getting a starter. Prices are very reasonable, I would come again!

I am so happy I finally tried this place! Ordered the vegetarian pumpkin ragout and pho/french dip sandwich which was so good! And the bread that they serve is amazing. I also got the oat milk latte with salted pandan (half sweet). It had just the right amount of sweetness and a beautiful hint of pandan. It was so so good. The only issue I had was finding parking. I ended up street parking but the parking spaces for the shop is limited, but the location is not the best. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Came for a light lunch with sesame banh mi sandwich with pulled chicken, and oatmilk latte with salted pandan. The sandwich was light, well toasted, and the chicken reminds me of chicken salad made with fresh chicken. The sandwich was really enjoyable and the coffee is also good. I did wish the pandan flavor was stronger in the coffee.

A great, little vietnamese diner that’s doing it like no one else! The food is great quality and is so innovative. At first, I wasn’t sure about the higher prices, but who else is doing pho french dip? and they do it so well! The vietnamese flavors are authentic and I wish they were open for dinners! I love ordering banh mi with a café sua da!!I highly recommend, but some notes:there are no bathrooms, and probably not great choice for dining in if you’re a larger party (2 large, 2 medium, and 2 small tables). Aside from the 4 cute little patio style chairs, the rest of seating is backless, which is uncomfy if you’re sitting for too long.
