I had the fish and chips, the fish was melt-in-your-mouth fluffy, delicious. My wife got the filet mignon, no sauce needed, superb. Tasty cocktails too.

The four of us arrived for an early dinner before attending a show at the Terrace Theater. We were promptly seated and our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. Everyone had something different to eat and everyone was quite pleased with our meals. We will remember this great little place the next time we have an evening show. Highly recommend!
My friends and I had dinner at The Carvery this weekend after a show at the Terrace Theater. I made reservations (for 7 ppl) based on proximity to the theater and menu options. The website definitely makes the restaurant look bigger and nicer. The main floor dining area was only ok as it is right next to the bar so no real separation to feel like you're at a restaurant. They had the large, front window-like door open so you could hear all the outside noise and feel the cold drafts. Our waitress was VERY nice, knowledgeable and had a great attitude. Unfortunately, she seemed to be the only one working the dining area so service was slow...not her fault Our appetizers came out fairly quickly and were very good (Brussel Sprouts, Brie-utiful Crostini and Spinach & Artichoke Dip) but some of the drinks took forever and we had to ask for them a few times. 3 of us ordered/shared the Butcher Block Meat Sampler ($120) and we ordered the steaks medium rare. Only 1 came out that way and the other 2 were medium WELL! It appears that the steaks also didn't have time to "rest" and were cut too soon because the majority of the natural juices were lost. I was going to send them back and have new ones made but everyone was really hungry so I didn't. It came with 2 sides (we got veggies and rosemary mashed potatoes) and they were VERY small portions. The other main dishes that were ordered were good and sizeable. Overall, it was a decent experience. I would go back, based on other reviews, and try different items. But not anytime soon.
Loren was an absolutely wonderful waitress. She was attentive but not overly bearing and just delightful. The live music was great with a guitar player and a cellist with an outstanding voice. Overall a great evening out.
Salad veggies not fresh. Soup is basic and sandwich with the dipping sauce is okay to good. Based on that price, there are better options elsewhere.

A quaint and friendly spot for a quiet dinner. The brussels sprouts were the star of the show and included a very good tahini sauce. We ordered the meat sampler medium rare. It was good, not amazing but good. If you’re hoping to have their prime rib be sure to go on a weekend as it is not available during most week days. Service was friendly and helpful. Overall positive experience.

All good except you get the random person off the street wandering in. That's anywhere in CA though.

Turn the mf music down! Great food and drinks but my party and I basically sat in silence while the music BLARED over everything because we could literally not hear each other across the table.

I had the best Mother's Day Brunch the food and service was excellent! I would highly recommend that you go and experience.
Nice little bar and restaurant. The food was okay. If you are looking for a good steak or prime rib, I wouldn't really go here for the price you are paying. Brussel sprouts and sides were good. The beef, not so much. Friendly staff/ establishment. However, for the price I'm paying for a steak, I expected a higher execution.

I highly recommend the prime rib and Brussel sprouts!! Great experience dining here.
This was our First time at the Carvery, I Made reservations a week before for Valentines Day. We arrived for our reservation, seated right away in the upper section of the restaurant. They only had a Valentines Prix Fixe available which we knew beforehand. Time to order. We order 2 drinks before ordering our dinner. They're out of French Onion Soup AT 7:45PM which we both wanted so opted for one of their Salads instead. Winter salads arrived and were dry as they had no creamy apple cider and maple vinaigrette dressing. Waiter brought a side of dressing out 15 minutes later after we choked down most...Oh and still No drinks although we noticed people being seated 20 minutes after us receiving their drinks right away at the dining room below. The waiter did keep apologizing for this delay each time he would come up empty handed. 2nd course coming up I had opted for the Prime Rib while my wife went with the Filet (Medium Rare Butterflied) and Lobster tail. Food comes out. Yes, still NO drinks......Prime rib was so so, baked potato was excellent however. The Filet my wife had was charred and very far from medium rare. It was ordered to be butterflied which it wasn't. Just a sad little piece of burnt meat on her plate next to her dry lobster tail. The musicians were great on the other hand this was the only thing this place had going for them besides the baked potato. We finish our dinner an hour later and you guessed it still no drinks as our dessert comes to the table. We just wanted to leave at this point and miraculously the drinks arrived along with the check of course. Such perfect timing as I wanted to cancel the drinks at this point. I don't write many reviews but after spending $248 on a special night for Valentines after seeing this Ad.... "Enjoy a romantic dinner with live music by Chad Bishop, blending jazz and soul into your favorite covers. Make it a night to remember" It was a night we'll always remember that was far from romantic with BAD SERVICE!
Was not impressed. Ended up leaving and going across the street to Kings Fish House. The welcome was a little lackluster. And the service was slow. It didn't look to be crowded. a lot of open tables. Maybe they didn't have enough staff for a Sunday afternoon at 11:45am. Didn't get any food so I can't comment or ratem
Food was good. Some needed a little more seasoning like salt and pepper. Drinks were delicious. They had great live music playing.
My family was struck by a slough of medical issues right before the Holidays and all our cooking plans went out the window. The Carvery was one of the few places that still had email availability for Christmas and we were able to get a full Holiday meal with prime rib and multiple sides on the 23rd and reheat for Christmas Day.
This meal not only saved our Christmas, even being reheated this was easily one of the best Prime Rib roasts I've had in my entire life, a sentiment that was parotted by all at dinner that night. The Au Jushad insane amounts of flavor compared to most restaurants and the horseradish cream sauce was ratiod great for the whole table.
The sides were great with the Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Brussels Sprouts stealing the show.
Even after I caused some confusion with the ordering online and mixed up pickup dates and times the manager called me back directly and helped get everything on track. The focus on making sure our holiday was done right and trying to accommodate our schedules due to all teg complications was not only noticed but appreciated greatly and they've now become a regular spot for our family, both immediate and extended.
