Spicy Sugar Thai Long Beach

I ordered takeout from this place. Literally the most disgusting pad Thai I have ever had. And I’ve been ordering pad Thai for 20 years across multiple states - as I travel a lot for work. The chicken was dark meat, dry as a bone, and chewy. The sauce tasted like tomato sauce. And absolutely zero seasoning. We will never be getting food from this place again, even though we live within walking distance.

Y’all !! I’ve been coming here for years and years. When Kat took over , it took off and got even better! My partner and I were surprised with a layout of new menu items as we arrived.It was authentic and amazing and totally a surprise ! This is why I love Kat <3 come on down and get your fix! :)

Small place, had to wait 35Min for a table,service was mid never did receive my complimentary snack.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve had! Super fresh pad thai and the chicken satay was wonderful! Would come again, service was great the owners were super nice as-well and checked on us couple times during our visit.

Friendly staff, open later than other Thai places nearby, white rice included with curry was tiny, very flavorful Panang curry but way too sweet

So it was late one night in the city of Long Beach and we were hungry. Did a quick search online and found Spicy Sugar Thai , and they were open late. Hooray! We strolled in there and ordered our dinner. The staff was friendly even at that time before they closed. They welcomed us in and we ate some very delicious thai plates! We will definitely be back! I ordered the Crab fried rice with double crab, double shrimp ,green onion, ginger, onions and mushrooms. And the Duck spring rolls with duck sauce. The Duck spring rolls were amazing. The crab fried rice with all the extras is not something I would order again. I poured out the extra oil while trying to figure out why there was so much oil, I could only eat a portion on top because the rest was still to oily and it didn't taste good. I believe when I ordered my food it was 2 hours til closing time so maybe the staff were tired idk. If I go back it'll just be for the spring rolls and Duck sauce! The staff were polite when i went to pick up my food. I didn't stay so I can't speak for the atmosphere of the place, there were customers dining in but I wasn't paying attention to them.

Came here on a Saturday at 5PM and we were promptly greeted and seated. Water, a wonton appetizer, and menus were brought immediately for us to snack on while perusing the menu. We ordered several items and they were brought quickly, all at once.

5/5 Naked wing crispy garlic: deliciously juicy and well fried.
3.5/5 Crisp chicken with panang curry (mild): the curry was amazingly sweet and aromatic. So full of flavor and subtle spices. The chicken was thinly battered and crispy but a little on the dry side.
4/5 Chicken satay (4 skewers): flavorful and well grilled.
5/5 Thai bbq skewers (3 skewers): ordered the pork and it was moist and well seasoned.
5/5 Sweet sugar roll: they were like sweet thin pancakes and such a delight. Highly recommend!
5/5 Thai tea: sweet, creamy, and a perfect complement to the spices.

Excellent service! Our server was attentive, courteous, and overall very pleasant. Looking forward to coming back to try some of the other dishes.

Food is authentic Thai food!

This is my go-to Thai spot in Long Beach. I usually get the orange chicken with a side of spring rolls and chicken satay. The peanut butter sauce they serve with the chicken satay is phenomenal.

Excellent to come and enjoy extremely flavorful Thai Food.

I’ve tried this place multiple times but the food quality just comes up short. Everything is really bitter
