Dang... This is my second time trying Throwdown. To be honest, the first time I wasn’t all that impressed but I just got a plate from the newly open restaurant and this is GOOD! Tender meatloaf, savory collard greens, rich gravy with the red beans and rice, and the sweet sticky cornbread is a nice treat. Go try em out!
Throwdown Soulfood has some of the best soul food in LA County. Everything is freshly prepared and seasoned to perfection. The greens are off the chain.
GET THE MAC AND CHEESE. Saw this booth at the FoodieLand event for 4th July weekend. They were giving out samples and that was what hooked my friend , and I in.
Mac and cheese is #1 item to get. WE BOTH LOVED IT (soul food with FLAVOR - you KNOW, if you know)
Rice and gravy is good.
Oxtail is also good, tender. We kinda got fattier pieces.
Collared greens I'd put 3rd place.
