My wife and I drove into Los Alamos to look the place where I used to live long ago. We got hungry and decided to stop at Charlie's. We sat on the patio outside and enjoyed delicious mushroom burgers and onion rings. I highly recommend this place!

Been stopping here the last 2.5 years as a tow truck driver for work lunch break since i first pulled off for the sign off the highway food offramp on 101.... this is a hole in the wall place to the max... amazing place... super family own vibe... charlie (the owner) has personalized sat next to me and ask how the food was.. and offered/ asked how to do better next time... I'd i ever open a resuraunt I'm taking notes... wow....
Come down to ventura county to open a place!!!!... i tell family... ok let's go... but we need to leave at 7am bar to get their breakfast i love so much..

We were headed north & I was really hungry and my wife found this on Google. It had outside seating, and I was not happy with my Wife's choice. The food & the service were really nice, and that totally turned my opinion around. Next time we are cruising up to Pismo or Morro Bay, I would stop there again.

That was the best burrito I believe I've ever had. The breakfast burrito is huge and completely worth the few dollars the charge
This is a country home styled culinary experience. Charlie’s has both Hispanic and American classics. Being mixed, I appreciated feeling welcomed. I got the small super burrito which reminded me of abulitas cooking back home in Santa Maria. I sat in the front picnic tables and enjoyed views of the valley and watched the birds play. The food cost was much more reasonable then what I have found around Orcutt. With a little quieter and more scenic drive. I give Charlie’s a 10/10.

I was born and raised on the central coast (Lompoc) and have been to Charlie’s more times than I could ever count or add up in bank statements. Today, 6/23/24 - marks the day I won’t ever go back & I’ll tell you why.
Myself and my girlfriends ride motorcycles and we were on a motorcycle ride from Los Olivos to Santa Maria. The temperature was 96 degrees and I really needed to use the bathroom. I knew Charlie’s had a bathroom and supported bikers so we stopped for no more than 2 min so I could use the bathroom. I wasn’t even 2 feet out of the bathroom when the lady behind the counter said, “can I take your order?”. I said, “I’m so sorry we didn’t come here to eat, just use the bathroom but I love your food!” Her response was, “Well make sure you use a gas station next time, that’s only for customers!”.
I am a customer, and I’ve been a customer for 30+ years. The customer service I got in that moment of time has rubbed me so wrong that I will never go back, nor my friends. We bring in tons of business from out of state and have always incorporated Charlie’s as a staple on our bike rides.
