Estrellita Mexican Bistro

Flavorful Mexican food with a lovely presentation. I can’t say how authentic these dishes are, though they make an enticing meal. I’ve been twice recently and enjoyed the outside patio, even if it can be a little noisy next to the street.

Delicious, welcoming, and charming. This evening was my first experience at Estrellita Mexican Bistro, and the night's special combination was amazing! Tender pork, verde mole with sunflower seeds create the tasty Pipian, which was served next to the best Mole I've ever tasted, made from scratch, with poblano and tender, moist chicken, along with a refreshing salad and fluffy rice. A completely delightful meal, starting with the Mango Guacamole, as well as enjoying a flavorful Sangria, and ending with the Coconut Kaluha Flan for dessert.

I have been happily dining here for over 20 years. Amazing food with dishes you don’t often find in Mexican restaurants. Pipian and Mole are favorites.

Recently visited from the U.K. Friends who lived close by suggested the venue. I’m no expert but the food was delicious and the service was excellent. On my last visit prior to flying home we had a pitcher of Margarita, which was delicious.

Stopped in to test their nachos, and I was not disappointed. It was huge, and I had to ask for a togo box. Served with high-end pulled beef and a generous helpings of cheese and beans with guacamole and sour cream.

That said, as with all of the restaurants in this area they don't seem to understand how to serve ice water. Their house margarita also left something to be desired despite being homemade. Their hand-made lemonade though was excellent.

I hate bringing up the ice water because this seems to be a problem in the whole area. It's like they all have some restrictor on the ice and the water. So Estrellita is in no way unusual in this strange oddity, which seems to be local to the Los Altos area.

My first visit. Decor is in theme with a south of our border tourist experience, but right here in Palo Alto California. The food was inspiring. I tried something I've never had or even seen on a Mexican restaurant menu before. For the Record I am Hispanic. I had the second item on the special menu. Chicken chili en Nogada. Excellent. I'm terrible with remembering names, but our waiter, was polite, courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. Outstanding young man. I'm not from the area. But when I return I'm looking forward my next visit. Compliments to the Chef and back of the house staff for my beautiful delicious meal.

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access. Limited parking in front. But may have more in back. I'm not aware of.
