Cafe 23 – Indian Street Food is one of the best spots for momos and Vada pav in LA. The restaurant specializes in North Indian street food, with amazing chole bhature, solid momos, and the only good indo chinese in the area. A Mumbai native noted the vada pav is done justice, rare in the US. The kadhi and rice is always bomb, and non veg options are really good. Veg noodles and kadhai paneer with garlic naan are also insanely good. The achari soya chaap and vada pav are excellent. Portions on some dishes like pav bhaji are a bit small, but prices are great. The atmosphere is very welcoming with a great vibe, nice outdoor seating, plants, and cozy lights. The staff is really helpful and kind, and the lady at the front is super sweet. Everything is a 10/10, including the vadapav, aloo & gobi parathas, chai, mango lassi, and dosa. A great place to visit when craving Indian food near USC campus.
