Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Los Angeles

I took my mom to watch the new Jackass movie and this place is very nice. The hallway feels like an art exhibit. The theater is amazing, I like that it's small but big. The comfy reclining seats, the audio, and visuals are top notch. I really want to come back here to try the food and drinks.

1st time here and I love it!

We wanted to finish watching the film, so we bought tickets and arrived 20 minutes later. They wouldn’t let us in, saying the doors were closed – even though food and drinks are served there every minute. We had to leave in a bad mood.
The cinema is top-notch, but the service is awful.

We bought tickets online, were 10 minutes late and were not allowed into the cinema.The reason is that the doors are already closed, although nothing was closed and food was brought to the cinema for other people.

Great atmosphere and a side bar. Even with recent changes, grumbles about phone use during movie, it's still a solid spot to enjoy a flick

There were movies times listed online and on their time board but no one was staffing the ticket desk. The doors were locked and the staff was just in the back looking at people outside with disdain.

Used to be my favorite theater. The staff are still amazing. But they’ve literally one by one taken everything I liked off the menu. You can tell they are just being extremely cheap now. All the good quality food is being removed. They have made it so you need to use a phone now to order which sucks. SMH we used to have nice things.

Don’t waste your time! I expected much better. Never once did I feel welcome in this theater. Watched a movie here for the first time and the experience was… lackluster to say the least. The decor was one thing but the staff were horrendous. If they had any customer service training, they could have fooled me. No one greets you and they treat you like a nuisance for being there. I wanted a fun experience in a new theater and left with the worst I’d ever had. Despite their rude enforcement of strict phone policies (which I appreciate as a movie goer), this was the only showing I’ve been to in any theater for years where a phone went off in the middle of the movie. The chairs were uncomfortable with stationary trays for food which made it tough to get into the chair and left half the tray impossible to reach. I would’ve overlooked this but the food they brought was subpar at best to top it all off; half of it was cold. Needless to say, I will not be back and I cannot recommend this place even to my worst enemy. The whole front of house staff needs retrained.

Always great service, great movie selection, comfortable seats, and great food.

I had a completely different idea of this place in my mind from what people told me about it. The quality of the food was sub parfor the price. The phone ordering system promotes a culture of using phones in the screen. But most of all for me, it was the smell. In the halls. In the screens. Old stale food. Like the carpets have seen one thousand spillages over the years. Really off putting.

Went there on a Thursday and it was pretty chill and spacious. Their recliner seats are very comfortable.

For food, I ordered fries on their digital website, and highly recommend it! Would suggest to add a ketchup option in their menu since it got a bit salty towards the end.

This theater forces an unfair policy on its customers. They heavily emphasize keeping your phone away during the movie, but the second it ends, they send a text from an unknown number giving you a tiny 20-minute window to close your tab. I kept my phone silenced, left the theater, and took my son to do some shopping. By the time I checked my phone, I had already been hit with an automatic 20% tip.
​This venue is already pricey, and money is tough for everyone right now. Forcing a 20% penalty on people just because they didn't immediately stare at their screens the moment the movie ended is predatory. Terrible policy.
