I need to take a look at these low reviews and see what they're about... I had a fucking fantastic experience. (And this isn't some god damn paid review... I'm a real person that mostly does reviews on good to great experiences (what I consider a four or five star "review") OR shit experiences. This was my first time at Alimento. I'm not a local white collar or 1% ass hole from the Silverlake area; I'm a normal ass blue collar worker, who barely makes enough to "survive" living in Los Angeles, much less buy a damn house here... so point being, the nearly $400 I dropped on a party of five, was absolutely "felt" financially. So let's start with walking in the place... (buckle in...this is gonna be a long one I think)... ...was not impressed nor disappointed when walking in to Alimento last night. Decent ambiance, concrete floors, wood vibes, good place settings and nothing awry from what I saw. Arrived right when dinner service started, and there was only one other table seated at the time. Two FOH staff members jokingly "fought" over serving us...I found it to be a fun moment. The server that ended up doing much of the service at our table, had on a cow pattern blouse, and god damn it put "MOOO" by Doja Cat in my head so bad I had to listen to it on the way home. On that note... SERVICE: was damn near fucking PERFECT. Server forgetting my beer was the ONLY hiccup of the evening and they comped it! Did not expect that and it only elevated my dining experience. I wanna give an honorable mention to the other server. He was helping our server out here and there, which was cool to see as well. Super nice guy and also helped us a few times. Also want to mention that the place started to fill up while our food started coming out. Food: Not sure if I'll remember everything we ordered as this is a "share" or "family style" type of place but here we go... first off, server gave us some suggestions and they were on point with all of them IMO. (Don't remember all the dish names) We had the Caesar type salad, the oxtail, two orders of the yellowtail crudo, the spaghetti, another pasta dish I didn't try and then the Lumache as well... man the sauce in the Lumache had SO MUCH FUCKING FLAVOR. I was blown away by it, and my partner wished she would have ordered it after tasting my dish... I was damn near rudely drinking the sauce. There were a couple other small plates on the table, but I didn't get to those as we had a good amount of food coming out and I knew I had the whole pasta dish to handle. The crudo was delicious. I recommend one plate per two people. Drinks were great and the bread pudding for dessert was delicious and I'm not a bread pudding guy... like for real, the bread pudding was damn good. My step daughter graduated from Art Center College of Design, and this was the place she chose for dinner on her graduation weekend. I have only had one other Italian restaurant in LA thus far, that I have enjoyed as much as I enjoyed my experience at Alimento. Again, this review is a genuine recanting of my experience last night. I'll look at the reviews pushing this spot down into the 3.4-3.5 category, cos this place is more like a 4.3-4.5 on a BAD day I imagine... ...keep doing your thing BOH & FOH. Food and service were fantastic. I hope next time I come for the Lumache, that sauce still hits the same way! Whoever the chef is in the kitchen, thank you. It was delicious.

My husband and I ate here for date night. We had heard great things about it. It's definitely got a romantic ambiance going on. There were outdoor tables with candles, and the restaurant had a nice playlist going on. The server was attentive and took our order fairly fast. I was crushed when I found out that we had to pay for bread. The three pastas we split amongst ourselves were nicely paired with wine, my husband had a pasta with crab in it and while I can't remember off the top of my head what the other two were, they were overall pretty good. It tasted like a fusion-like pasta. A mix between Mediterranean and Italian. Parking was a challenge buts it's LA, you always find a way to make it work. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet, chill date night.

Pay your staff a proper wage and you wouldn’t need to trick customers into paying their healthcare bills. I mean are you serious? How do any of you sleep at night?

Date night with the husband. Since I'm vegetarian I got the risotto tots & casarrece pasta- both were delicious. Husband got the Radiatori pasta & Albacore crudo- both "out of this world" according to him. The dessert was the best part of the dinner- both super flavorful. The service staff was really nice.

They tack on hidden fees to your bill (in addition to tip) and claim that they are being so kind to offer their employees health insurance out of the goodness of their hearts and that's what that fee is for. What a joke, how about actually paying for that yourself if you're offering it (RESPONSIBILITIES OF OWNING A BUSINESS I KNOW) and not trying to sheist your customers out of a couple bucks under the disguise of benefitting your employees. Super cheap

We absolutely adored the Chicken Liver Crostone and Radicchio Caesar, and would return again and again for these alone. The restaurant would have received five star if the Bread pudding and Pasta with Clams hadn’t been so disappointing.

Food was VERY good. A little loud but it was Vday and very busy. I booked a reservation after seeing Alimento on a list of great restaurants in NELA. When I looked Alimento up on Yelp I saw lots of mixed reviews some stating that their bill included a Healthcare tax and water being charged on the bill. This is nothing new to me as I've been to a number of restaurants that include heathcare for employees on their checks and restaurants that charge for "still" or filtered water. Tap water IS still free haha. It sucks that someone would knock a restaurant down for charging healthcare for their employee but whatever. I also saw people mention that their portions were small for the price. I found the portions to be average of other nice restaurants i've been to and the price was also average. We ordered the Smoked Fish Dip to start. Very good. Followed that with The Farro salad. Can't go wrong there. It was a great second course. Then we each got our own pasta dishes which where substantial in size. I ordered the special pasta for the night which was a creamy almost caramelized sauce with prawns. I honestly didn't want it to end. My girlfriend ordered a more simple classic pasta and red sauce with barata which was also very good. We ended our meal with a Chocolate cup which was very rich. Didn't finish all of it as we were full. Great date spot and would go back.

Great food and wine recommendations from the staff, who are equally sharp and pleasant. The presentation and portioning is perfect for a hungry third date (does that make sense?).The atmosphere is somewhere in the middle of energetic and intimate, depending on the night. A bit cramped, but not unpleasant.I enjoyed my time here & the food did not disappoint. I'll be back!Parking: I'd budget 10-15 minutes for parking, and a bit of a walk which this area is known for. Ride share if you can!

Couldn't begin to understand why they don't have a higher star rating. The interior is simple, elegant, and inviting. The space isn't too big but fits quite a few tables, and there's more than enough two tops. There's also a heated outdoor section in front of the restaurant and a bar available for additional seating. We came on a training night, when the kitchen was a bit slow, but our server Christian was kind, knowledgable, and still attentive. The food was excellent. We ordered the fussili and radiatori pastas along with the white bean zuppa, and all were incredible. I'm sure we came right in the middle of the first dinner wave, especially on a Friday night, but whatever hiccups they had going on in the kitchen we barely felt. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would definitely return if in the area. Only negatives which are out of the control of the restaurant: parking sucks, but that's just Silverlake; and I would not recommend this spot for small children or large parties.

Great food. Really really tasty and just modern enough. Drink list is a little light and there’s no cocktails but this is a solid neighborhood

I went for the first time last night and although the food is good, the portions are TINY! We were told it was family style so we all had 1 bite of each plate, left hungry and with a big bill. Honestly just skip this place and go to Hippo in highland park. Service was ok. Very loud, crammed space. Uncomfortable chairs. The only reason I don't give it 1 star is because the food was decent.

Amazing service and great ambiance and fantastic food!!! Laura is so sweet and was so helpful. We are a vegetarian party and she explained the whole vegetarian menu to us, answered every question thoroughly. They also course out the meals at a great pace. Very flavorful food! The tots and white bean soup were our favorite! Farro salad was also so great:)

The Radiotore pasta was delicious, radicchio Caesar salad was extra delicious, broccolini quite good but Chicken Milanese sandwich was THICK and didn’t shine. Service was excellent even though one person manned the whole dining Room on a Saturday night. Small place w a few tables outside as well. They let you try their wines by the glass.
