I hate writing bad reviews for local businesses. I try to support them, especially ones in my community, and especially ones right down the street from me. I've been coming here for 10 years on and off, but today was the last meal I will ever have there. I hope they hear this and care enough to make a change, not that it would matter at this point for me, but just for their future. My meal came out to $30. I ordered the omelette on special which is what I always do and a coffee. Normally that omelette can feed an army. It was like half as big as it is normally. I justify paying those prices because of the size of their meals. Usually I take home like half the omelette for later. This was just a regular omelette. $18.79 for the omelette and $4.79 for the coffee. It's too much... Plus with those prices, you have to flexible with your sides. I'm trying to eat lower carb, as a lot of people are now, and I asked if they could give me cottage cheese or sliced tomatoes instead of potatoes and toast, and they said they could do that for an extra $2. Come on... That's just terrible business. Food is decent but not worth the cost anymore. Bummer. I liked coming here occasionally.

How cool is this place! Just stopped by for a quick breakfast and found super fun and friendly service, with the punk rock soundtrack quietly grinding out angst poached hard. Go for a satisfying meal and stay for the mosh reminiscing.

Pat and Lorraine's has been a staple in Los Angeles since the '70s and it's super easy to see why. We popped in while we were in LA because my husband is a Quentin Tarantino fan, and P&L's was the setting of the "tip argument" at the beginning of Reservoir Dogs. So we came with ulterior motives, but were blown away by the real life cafe! The vibes are old school with little cloth kitchen curtains, a rotating pie stand, and a counter you can shimmy up to and eat at when they're busy, like the old lunch hours you see in films. We had breakfast, as we got there early on our first day in Los Angeles. The food came out quick and was delicious. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, and a breakfast burrito - nothing crazy, but just super well done and in a really cool environment, if you're a film buff. Our server let us know which table the Reservoir Dogs scene took place at, and even sat us there. And don't worry, we DID tip! :-)

If you want good ol comfort food, this is the place to come. They're only open for breakfast and lunch so be sure to get there early. Definitely a little hidden gem if you're not familiar with it's background.

Food is really good but ridiculously overpriced. I paid over $62 for a burrito and pancakes with hot chocolate and an orange juice. It's good ok, but it's not worth it. Also, this last time we were waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food. We're not coming back.

The food was exceptional! HIGHLY recommend the French toast. The staff was very friendly and made it feel like home. 10/10 would go again!

I'm a Los Angeles native of 71 years. I have passed Pat and Lorraine's coffee shop numerous times. Most of the times I assume it was shut down or abandoned which gives you an idea of the ambience. I decided to eat breakfast there and didn't feel like ordering a $20 plate of bacon and eggs so I ordered the special, pecan pancakes and eggs for $16.50. The pancakes tasted like they were made with some kind of whole wheat flour that seem to drain any kind of fluffiness or flavor out of the food. The pecans were tasteless. in a word, horrible. They gave me three eggs which was nice but of course they've been fried in oil instead of butter, so were just mainly greasy but on to the bacon. Have you ever cooked bacon at home and then overcooked it and then just left some of the crumbled pieces in the pan and forgot to do the dishes for a day? OK take those bits of bacon and put them on a plate and charge $16 for it. They actually served old crumbly bacon with congealed fat and the flavor of burnt bacon. I informed the waitress that I thought the food was some of the worst I've ever had. She did not offer to do anything about it and just apologized. It's been five hours since the meal and after getting sick i still feel like garbage. This little coffee shop could be a Goldmine. If the right people purchased it cleaned it up and just served decent food doesn't have to be great. Just decent. Money the poor owner is saving by serving day old bacon just just ain't worth it. Figure it out.

Cute local spot that's been around forever. Yeah, it's a bit pricey, but so is everything in LA. At least their portions are huge as opposed to some dinky avocado toast at some hyped up instagrammy brunch spot. But yeah, maybe think about sharing some of these dishes, or have plenty of leftovers. Charlie omelette was great. Biscuits were huge and tasty. We ordered a side gravy for them. Service was great, kept my coffee nice and hot and full. Will def come back to try some of their other Mexican dishes.

Didn't care for the food there. Service was good. It's a nice coffee shop if you just want coffee and maybe dessert. Breakfast had no flavor.

Great service, great food. Biscuits were amazing. Wife had the ranchero steak. Also good. Breakfast potatoes and beans also super yum. Can share the bigger dishes between two (or more people). Gonna try the pancakes and french toast next time.

They charge over $20 for a breakfast burrito. I ordered the Reuben and it came with American cheese. The rye was soggy. I gave it a try and it was probably the worst sandwich I've ever ordered. Absolutely awful. Service was fine though we had to remind the server to bring our water and toast

This places charges way too high for breakfast . U less the eggs are from a golden goose I won't pay 15.60 for one egg and two bacons . I don't need 3 lb potatoes for breakfast . I walked out before this place could take my order the longer they took to take my order the more I dreaded paying there prices !!!! I've been coming for years but never again

Big portions, good service, priced well. Cool location where Reservoir Dogs was filmed. Not crowded at all during weekday morning 8:30am. Would recommend for breakfast to anyone, especially movie buffs looking for iconic locations.
