The food and service were excellent. Love this location, especially when you get a table on the hillside. So much character. Note that only Valet parking is available and was $15 at dinner. Street parking is very limited.
I meet up with friends after work at this restaurant throughout the year and we've always loved the food, atmosphere, and service (for the most part) but this last Wednesday night left us pretty disappointed. We've noticed lately that some of the staff has been giving a "too cool for school" vibe when responding to our requests and when they get busy and stressed. There were 6 of us and we were waiting for 4 more to show up. Our server started off being attentive getting our drink orders but we had to ask a couple of times for the overhead fan to be turned on in outdoor patio area. We kind of got the impression that he didn't want to do it after he told us it probably won't help and we had to ask him twice to do it. It was eventually turned on and it did help. Four more people then joined our party and when they sat down we asked our server if he could please put them on a separate check... one for the 6 of us and one for the 4 of them. He said "yes no problem". Everything else went pretty smooth until it came time to pay our bill. He gave us one check so I asked if it was for the 6 of us or the other 4. He said that he put it all on one check. I reminded him that we asked ahead of time if it could be split and if he could just split it now for us. He obviously didn't want to and told us "but everything is already on the one check". He then said that he thought we just wanted him to bring the food they ordered separately to their side of the table. That's not what we asked and he obviously heard us wrong (honest mistake) but then he decides to gives us attitude rather than split up the check so he had the manager come out and handle the situation. The manager was nice, professional, and apologetic but we didn't understand why it even got that way. We told him about the server's attitude and he said he'd talk to him. Anyhow, we really do like this place a lot but servers with attitude isn't good for business.
Valet hit another car in their parking garage and destroyed 3 separate sections of the car, and tried to lie about it. Manager basically said not Bacaris problem and didn't even offer to buy us a round of drinks or anything. We are frequent customers and spent a lot of money. Also, dinner food came out after desert, and round of drinks never came to the table. We are a group not one to complain but this was handled so poorly.
Was there to try Dine LA menu. Options were ok, desserts was underwhelming. Service was alright, we had to flag them down each time we needed something and the table was tight for party of 4.
The 90 min open bar was a great deal! I also loved the brunch food options and the chilaquiles were incredible.
Arrived a little late but not past the 15 minutes res for 12pm got there at 12:11 after parking a block over. I give my name 1st hostess asks me to wait as she "checks for a table" disappears on us. So I go back over and see another hostess, I'm asked if I have a reservation I give her my name again I'm asked to wait now. Now 2 sets of people come in and are immediately seated after giving there names, and guess they're seated upstairs. So I then go back because I noticed the people being seated immediately look nothing like me. The whole time no one was trying to seat us, or looking for a table. They literally placed us right at the outside tables downstairs where there was plenty seating upon us entering. Aside from that and the fact a premium Bacarita came up to $51 but a well was only $18 I'm a little disappointed because I'm not a stranger to Bacari, it just happened to be my 1st visit at this location. Camille our server was awesome, but I just felt out of place at this Bacari, I'll try to give it another try and see if I'm actually seated upstairs as requested but may just continue going to the one on 3rd, or West Adams.
Had a reservation for 10:15PM, and arrived at 10:08 for check in. They told us to wait on the side to be called. More people began checking in. Parties that arrived at 10:30 were checked in before us. I went to tell the host at the front with ginger hair and bangs how much longer it would take, and she immediately gave me attitude when I wasn't even rude. It felt racially motivated that white people who came in at 10:30 were seated before us and politely spoken to. Meanwhile you speak to women of color who have been waiting as a nuisance. We then get sit down all the way at the corner of the restaurant. To top it off there were people with drinks from the bar sitting there already. And the other host asked them to move. The utensils that had been there did not get removed. Table not cleaned. We waited 15mins and nobody came to check in with us, so we left. I've been to different bacari locations and this has never happened. Really disappointed in the service. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are okay with disrespect.
Bacari is really the best date night place ever! Must try the bottomless sangria for $32!!! The margarita pizza is 100000/10!!!
The food and drinks were all amazing. Have been here many times and will keep coming back for more :P
We reserved a table for 5 and got seated at a table for 4 with an extra chair. Very tacky. Final dishes came out 1.5 hours after we arrived and everything else has been eaten. We need dishes would be staggered but not like that!

Well our server took forever to bring out our last dish and honestly we should have just cancelled it at that point or our server could have just comped it for us. As a matter of fact we only saw our server at the beginning of our dinner then at the very end. Other servers are the ones who brought our food and refilled our waters. Some of the dishes were great the other half were okay but not worth their price like that fancy “ Mediterranean” corn which looked and tasted just like any Mexican street corn was way over priced but tasty. Plus that Oxacan pasta is the dish that came out like 40 mins after all our other dishes was just okay and a tiny amount not worth ordering either.
Umm, there was this guy Wade? Kind of a creep… I don’t think he’s even a server, but he kept coming up to the table and being really weird to the women.

Service and ambience is totally stellar, as is the cocktail list. The food is good, but I wish they would rotate the menu more. But a gorgeous relaxing spot with fantastic service and wine list and cocktails.
The patio dining is extensive and beautiful; one of the prettiest outdoor spaces I’ve ever dined in. Eating under large trees and surrounded by bamboo and lights. Photos don’t do this place justice. The food comes in small bites. We had the scallops, octopus, gem salad and broccoli. All was delicious.
