Great cocktails and atmosphere. They automatically added 5% ECW to the bill without letting me know. I dont mind that, but would be better if they let us know in advance. Double check if youre not willing to pay for it.

Although the server did her best she didn't get any help from her kitchen or bar staff. The food came out incorrect, which meant some of us at our table had eaten and others were starving. The drinks took forever and it started to rain we weren't even offered to sit inside. We moved ourselves. I can deal with all that but to NOT accept CASH.... A United States currency is NOT ok with me. I won't be going back ever. If you own a business in the United States you need to accept this Countries Own Currency!! Shame on you.

Great flavors! Accommodated vegan request by adding cauliflower to the rice bowl, which was delicious.

I used to really like this place but it has unfortunately fallen off. They used to serve a lot of cool Mexican-Japanese fusion concept foods like pozole ramen, al pastor bao, tlayuda with asian pickled toppings, but they've essentially reduced their menu to boring, generic Mexican fare. In a neighborhood with such hot competition there's no reason to go here and pay $15 for two tacos

The food was very good. My favorite thing was the spicy Pescado tacos. The chorizo scramble on toast was not as good as I was hoping it would be, but I did love the mimosa option with a flight of juices to kind of make your own mimosa. got there fairly early so there weren't many people and there, so the noise level was low and the atmosphere there is very charming and warm..

Great decor and service. Overall everyone liked their food but my rajas tacos were awful and I couldn't eat the 2nd one. Will come back and try other things though as it's a nice spot.

Ambience is fantastic, service is impeccable. Food portions are small, but solid. My one issue is that there is a 5% service charge independent of the tip that they add afterwards according to the menu, claiming that it is for health insurance for their employees — just include it in the price of the food, don't add on an extra charge.

In an era of skyrocketing costs at restaurants, Bar Hermanito provides excellent value: great food that doesn't break the bank. Everything we had was fresh and excellent. The service provided by CJ was the right balance of attentive but not intrusive. We'll be returning.

We had an early Valentines dinner here and loved it. There are enough veggie options to fill ourselves up and they were delicious! It's a warm and cozy spot and the staff was terrific.

The food was delicious offering a fusion of Mexican with a Japanese twist- but to me the star was their drink specialties!

Ordered the Margarita, mezcal margarita, birria tacos, salmon tacos and guac. Everything was very fresh. Tasted authentic. We sat at the bar because all tables were taken for reservations. Service was quick, bartender was very friendly and welcoming.

Nice spot to grab brunch with friends. They have a wide variety of brunch items. I had the breakfast burrito (part of their secret menu) with chorizo. Must say it was very tasty, filled with lots of chorizo, eggs, salsa, tater tots and cheese. Our server was very kind and checked in on us to make sure everything was great! Will definitely return when we visit Sawtelle again.
