Business is temporarily closed. I did frequent this location and hope they will be able to reopen in the future. They were always warm and welcoming every time I went in and probably had the most reasonably priced coffee.

Such delicious cupcakes, cookies, and brownies. Call ahead and ask what they have as things change seasonally. The celebration box is a great option.

This little bake shop is awesome!! It's small and I loved the decorations. Went in to inquire about ordering cupcakes for my office. I was greeted instantly with a big smile and hello. Customer service is great and the cupcakes...OMG...so good. Hard to choose a favorite. The one that caught my eye was the Boston Cream cupcake. I love Boston Cream anything so of course had to give that one a try along with a few others including red velvet, cookies & cream, chocolate and vanilla. I did not try it, but they also have a vegan cupcake which I'm now intrigued about. Highly recommend. Stop by if you are in the area.

I was craving sweet stuff on Friday afternoon, so I decided to try this local coffee shop in Dtla, it is small cute and hidden place in the corner, hard to notice. So far I tried their Mocha latte and Chococcina cupcake, and they were both delicious.Their cupcake and pastry are good even-though pricey and the cupcakes are quite small, but somehow I liked the taste.

For the last 3 years l've ALWAYS gotten cakes here when I'm in Los Angeles! I've gotten a few cakes from this location and every cake has be so moist, flavorful, and never super super sweet but just right. The ladies are so responsive, kind and have a great memory lol. The inside is so cute, CLEAN and well decorated, they always have my cakes on time and EXACTLY how I want them considering everything I get is always custom. Anytime l'm in the city and have a celebration they'll always been my go to!

First, the baked goods are delicious. I have been going there since they opened and have spent a lot of money. (Prior owner) Problem is, the customer service. When I tried to order by phone for a delivery recently, they said since it was the day of, I should go through third party delivery (Postmates, Uber eats) which I did. The driver was unable to deliver bc it was on a studio lot so I spoke with the gate guard and the driver and the driver assured me he would leave at gate. Long story short, after much investigation, we found they were not left at gate. When I talked to Big Sugar employee in person and showed receipts, she said she would take care of it and call me back. That never happened. I returned a week later to follow up and was given the excuse that they were too busy. After explaining what happened once again, employees/manager said they called the third party carrier and there was nothing they could do. So, I was stuck paying $115 and receiving nothing. Not even a call back. So long Big Sugar. I'll spend my money and encourage others to do the same at a bakery that cares about customer service.

I came here a couple of days ago just as they were closing. Was lucky to be greeted by Susie who helped me with my order. To start, the location of this bakery is super convenient. It's right in the heart of downtown LA near all the office buildings. They have a pretty wide selection of treats, from cupcakes, to cookies, to cake pops, and more. While the price is a bit on the expensive side, it's to be expected for the location. You also get what you pay for, as the taste is great. Heads up, they no longer have happy hour, as they are under new management. That said, the customer service was phenomenal! Susie was great in helping my group decide our order. Their friendly demeanor made me feel like I was a regular customer, even though it was only my second time there. Would totally recommend for all of your sweets needs!

This is my go-to bake shop! Their cake designs are beautiful and the cake is moist and delicious. I also love their other baked goods, and the fact that they also sell Groundwork's coffee is a big plus.

When the cookie craving hitttts I go to Big Sugar Bakery. It's a small shop and you may miss it if you're not paying attention! Everything is made fresh, so when they run, they run out. I tend to bring a bunch back to the office for an afternoon snack, and unfortunately for people coming after me, there sometimes is nothing left (oopsies!) My faves are the sugar cookie and vegan sea salt chocolate chip. Office faves are gluten free peanut butter, snickerdoodle, reverse chocolate chip, and chocolate chip. I've also had their vanilla cupcakes. For me, the frosting is not my fave but my bf loves it. Docking one start because it feels kind of expensive ($5 per cookie?) esp a large order.. but also I get it's a small bakery so I will keep supporting their business.

Person who answered the phone is very unprofessional and rude kind of straight to the point which is weird if your running a business anyways she told me to email and they didn’t even respond to my request I wouldn’t patronize this business

Terrible customer service and extremely overpriced cakes. I went to the DTLA location and staff was dismissive and annoyed about giving information regarding cake orders. Will not be returning to Big Sugar and instead found a great alternative: Cake Monkey Bakery. Their staff is very helpful and their gluten-free cakes are delicious and reasonably priced!
