A great pre-theater place. Had the buffalo cauliflower, which was a great start to the meal. Streak frites was great too, good flavor, cooked perfectly. This is a great place. Staff was friendly and attentive, made for a great experience. Definitely would recommend! Feels like A little Miami in Los Angeles! Great place.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of Birdcage Hollywood. The drinks are exceptional, the food is high quality, and the service is great ( thanks Josh). And it all came at reasonable prices for the area. Birdcage Hollywood is now our go-to restaurant whenever we go to the Pantages.

I went to the Birdcage Restaurant for dinner, prior to seeing MJ The Musical. We were the first customers in the restaurant at approximately 1715 hours. We were seated immediately and our server came over and took our drink order. It took over 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We ordered 2 Old Fashioned. The drinks did not come with craft ice or Luxardo cherries, which are customary for those drinks. A short time later, the bartender came over with a smaller version of our drinks with maraschino cherries. That was an insult! Our server returned to take our food order. I ordered a hamburger and was told they did not have any hamburger buns. He did not offer another option of bread. I saw that there was a chicken sandwich on the menu served on a ciabatta roll. So, I ordered it on a ciabatta roll. My friend ordered the chicken Mac n cheese. The food finally arrived 20 minutes later. Remember, we were the first and only customers in the restaurant. The Mac n cheese should have been loaded with chicken, however it only had a single piece of chicken. When we complained our server took the plate back to the Kitchen and returned with the same plate minus extra chicken. A kitchen server then came over to our table with a small plate containing sliced chicken that should have been inside of the Mac n cheese. My hamburger was decent and it was probably better with the ciabatta roll, instead of a regular hamburger bun. I feel the staff should have made a better effort to send someone to purchase hamburger buns and the cherries. This restaurant is in the heart of the theater district in Hollywood and is charging too much money for the food and drinks they serve. Hopefully, they read this review and do better. I am a frequent theater goer and will not be back to this restaurant. I can't recommend this restaurant either.

Never again!!! first impressions are everything and I certainly did not get a good first impression of this place. first of all, I'm so fed up with restaurants adding charges to the bill to help pay either workers insurance or whatever the hell else they are using it for. A 5% charge is added to every bill, which they make very clear is not gratuity.!!! How dare any restaurant do that is beyond me.... also I was cold to my bones. The restaurant had absolutely no heat and it was freezing the entire time I was there. One of the workers that I complain to claim that their heat wasn't working.,,,,yet, they still want 5% of my bill on top of my tip. menu was incredibly limited. I went there because I read a review on here from six months ago, which included a picture of the menu, and a review stating they had a plant a full amount of gluten-free and vegan items. Not true ! When we got there, I was looking for those items on their menu and they were not there. Another disappointment for me.. we ordered the 15 dollar hummus, appetizer that came with Pita. Could they give us a smaller portion and could they possibly give us less Pita. For 15 dollars at least give us a fair amount of Pita. I don't even think it was more than half a pita cut into strips for us to dip in the small portion of hummus for that price.. I was considering asking for more Pita.. when suddenly a worker came out of nowhere and dropped off a little glass, almost like a shot glass filled with a few little tiny pieces of slivered cucumber. He didn't even say what it was for. I assumed he thought we could use it to dip into the hummus. Can you cut your cucumber any smaller? We shared a burger for $16. It doesn't even include a side of fries that was extra.... I will never go back again.

This was our second visit to this restaurant and both times the service and food were disappointing. The Chardonnay bottle we ordered was served warm. We asked for a wine bucket and it took ten minutes. My hamburger meat was cold, dry and and overcooked. At least the fries were hot. My wife ordered a chicken BLT. The bread was burned, the chicken was overcooked and dry. The sauce on the sandwich was way to much. Messy and lacked flavor. The Ceasar salad was decent, but it was served with so much cheese on top you could barely see the lettuce. We wanted to let the waiter know but he finally came back to our table way to late. Also noted was the bathroom was absolutely filthy with toilet paper and empty toilet paper rolls. The sink was filthy and here's the kicker. We were one the first customers in restaurant at opening time of 5pm. We went there after a performance at the Pantages theater. Obviously the toilets were not serviced from the previous day.If you want a crafted cocktail there are some interesting selections.Too bad this restaurant can't get its act together. It is a at a prime location of just a few steps from the Pantages.

Our party of three ate here for dinner after seeing the 2 pm showing of MJ at the Pantages. We were warmly greeted & seated within minutes, then greeted by our server & provided with menus. We ordered one Chicken BLTA, and two H&V Burgers, mine with just cheese, lettuce, tomato @ avocado. We also ordered a rum daiquiri & an IPA. I had water as I was driving the 2 hours home. Our order came out promptly, portions were generous, food was immaculately presented & was absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding & staff were extremely cordial & upbeat. Why go anywhere else after seeing a show at the Pantages when you can dine here? So make it a perfect outing by enjoying a delicious meal & perfect ambiance at the Birdcage Hollywood!

We thought we were going to the Italian restaurant but stayed even tho it’s Birdcage and they haven’t changed the sign yet. We were seated right away and the server was at our side immediately to take our drink order. My kids both ordered the pesto Mac n cheese and I got the Mediterranean salad with chicken. They only had one order of the Mac n cheese left, although they had only been open for an hour. My son got the steak sandwich, which he said was ok, just not what he wanted. My other son loved the Mac n cheese. I really liked my salad, but the $10 extra to add chicken seemed a little extreme. My son got a drink, which was tasty but small for the price. They brought my son a birthday ice cream, which would have put us in a diabetic coma if we had eaten it. It was way too sweet, but we appreciated the gesture. My only real complaint was not having enough Mac n cheese, and charging $10 for a few slices of chicken for the salad.

We stopped in Birdcage for dinner before catching a show at the Pantages. This place had good food and the service was great. Definitely full of the theatre patrons. The only thing that bugged me was they charge all checks a 5% admin fee. An admin fee, for what? At a restaurant? Last time I was forced to pay an admin fee it was while renting an apartment. And at the price point of Birdcage it just seems like nickeling and diming the customer adding a 5% admin fee to the check when your burger/fries are already $22 and a glass of wine starts at $15. We won't be returning specifically because of this. Just include these fees in your menu prices. It's really tacky to add fees to checks, especially when you're at this price point.

We went to the Pantages Theater this past Saturday for my daughter's field trip. Once she was safely on the bus, I discovered this "deco" looking spot a couple doors away. The manager, Jonathan, was beyond professional and a breath of fresh air on Hollywood Blvd. Although I didn't have a chance to eat here this time, I will look forward to trying it next theater date. I would also recommend inquiring about their space for private parties. It has a nice vibe for a gathering in Hollywood.

Service was fast (great if not a lot of time before show at the Pantages). Greeted at the door and seat ASAP. Bar tender was funny polite and made great drinks. Recommend making this a place to stop at before and after a show or just because.

**Stellar Service and Delicious Fare at the Birdcage** *****Great place to come before heading to the Pantages Theatre***** 5 Stars all day Reginald and Jose 5 Stars***** Ambiance 5 Stars***** This is my last review for the year god bless. I recently visited the Birdcage bar/restaurant in Hollywood with a group of nine before heading to the Pantages for a Grinch-filled evening. From the moment we sat down, we were captivated by the bar's stunning beauty. However, what truly stole the show were the incredible bartenders, Reginald and Jose. Their attentiveness, humor, and extensive knowledge of the spirits they served left us thoroughly impressed. The cleanliness of the bar was impeccable, a testament to their dedication. As for the drinks, the Scooby snack shot was a delightful surprise that flipped my cap back, and Reginald's craft in preparing my rum and coke was exceptional. The culinary journey continued with a starter of CA hummus featuring turmeric flatbread and pickle Fresno peppers, a textural delight. My choice of the H&V Burger was nothing short of perfection - a well-seasoned beef patty with all the fixings cooked to absolute perfection. Finally, the carrot cake was the crown jewel, a dense yet tantalizing treat bursting with fantastic carrot flavors and complemented perfectly by the creamy topping. This place has earned my fandom, and I'll definitely be returning. Kudos to the management for bringing on board such gems as Reginald and Jose, who made our evening truly memorable. Cheers to them and the Birdcage for an unforgettable experience!

This is one of the few massively disappointing restaurants that I've been to. I can't recommend anything. Everyone in my family got something different and no one enjoyed anything. We were all very hungry when we sat down to eat and we left most of our food uneaten. In my case, it was way overcooked. I had the chicken and biscuits. The biscuits were burned, the chicken was dry, the pickles were bad, and the maple glaze seemed non-existant. It wasn't worth sending back because I had no faith that it would come back any better. My daughters sandwich was incredibly dry and basic and made incorrectly. My other daughter's hamburger was overcooked. The fries were edible. The service was very bad, the restaurant was fairly slow, so we were seated very quickly. Once seated, we had to wait 20 minutes to have our order taken. It took 30-40 minutes to get our food. Our server didn't check on us once to see how the food was after it arrived. When he eventually made it to the table we asked for the bill, which took another 15 minutes to get. They weren't busy and a lot of the staff were just standing around. We left over half of our meals uneaten and we had to pick up a pizza on the way home.
