About Cafe Franca Sawtelle

Cafe Franca Sawtelle is a wonderful little Thai brunch and coffee place on Sawtelle. It is a cute little cafe away from the busiest part of the neighborhood, making it easy to find free street parking and not feel rushed or crowded. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing with plenty of natural light, free fast WiFi, and outlets, perfect for a relaxing brunch, a tasty latte, or getting some reading or a light laptop work done.

The menu offers many great food options. The breakfast congee, Thai tea French toast, and Brekkie set are incredible. The Brekkie set comes with hearty eggs and meat, warm toast, and fresh squeezed orange juice. The bacon/egg/cheese and cream cheese crab sandwich are good too, and the housemade shokupan is especially good. The Tom Yum shrimp udon comes with mushrooms and is lightly spicy and absolutely delicious with a creamy sauce. The spicy shrimp udon is also available.

For drinks, the latte swaple, Sunshine Latte, matcha einspanner, coconut matcha foam, and matcha tonic are amazing. The Thai tea flavor shokupan toast is a highlight, made fresh in-house with Thai tea mousse, refreshing coconut ice cream, and salty-sweet-crunchy crumbles. The cafe is run by a super nice pair of siblings, and everything comes out pretty smoothly. It is a fantastic addition to the Sawtelle neighborhood.

What a new gem! We are so thrilled by their opening. All the food and coffee we had was DELICIOUS. We needed more Thai food on Sawtelle!
I swear I was just wondering where all the Thai food was on Sawtelle! We split the breakfast congee and the Thai tea French toast and both were incredible. Please make your way up to the north side of Sawtelle there’s some great shit up here!!
Really excellent. We had the tom yum shrimp sandwich and their pandan kaya toast. Each was really well done. Great vibe, very nice people. A great place.
