Delicious dinner of chicken in a mild and flavorful red mole sauce, with beans, rice, salad and tortillas for about $12.95. GIGANTIC menu of Mexican and El Salvadoran dishes, including breakfast selections and albondigas (meatballs) in soup or in sauce (my preference). Excellent value in all regards. Wooden Booths could use a cushion. You order from the counter and the food is delivered to your table after a short time. I'm looking forward to a return visit to try more of Carolina's ambitious menu! I went on a weekday and it wasn't busy, but I imagine it's probably busier on the weekends. Convenient free parking lot - Carolina's is one of a small (about 6 stores), slightly set-back shopping center.

Save yourself the headache and time! This place is a joke, to start off the woman who takes the orders is glued to the t.v; she will be upset & rude if you interrupt her soap opera time. You will wait OVER twenty-five minutes for 2 pupusas, the salsa is watered down and the service is only available during commercial time. You have been warned.

Orderd from this restaurant and let me tell you, It was awful! The meat was dry and not seasoned, the rice was mushy and tasted spoiled, the salad didn't taste fresh, and the chicken was dry and rubbery. Overall it was disappointing and hopefully I dont get sick from this ordeal.

This is not a fast food type of place. It takes forever. Like 20 mins. So Call ahead for take out. The crazy pupusa was not bad at all cheese and chicharon. No lines. Quiet. Very much hole in the wall mom pop kinda joint. You basically come here for the food. Nothing else.

Whoever says this place is great clearly has not tried REAL AUTHENTIC SALVADOREAN FOOD!!!! Wow! SERIOUSLY!! First of all I love to support small businesses, and not judge by how they look. My mom, my daughters & I decided to give it a try and we regret it ohh so much! First: As soon as we walked in, the lady in the register had such a bad attitude and so mean, she wouldn't even look at our faces to ask what we wanted to order! Didn't greet us or said thank you, nothing. You pay as you order so way before you even try their food!- smh Second: As we waited for our food I asked for a cup of water and they gave me sink water, so disgusting.. Not to mentioned it smelled so bad inside the restaurant that we had to wait in my car!! Third: My mom ordered coffee and the coffee was spilled all over her cup, they didn't even bother to wipe it before serving it and also it was not fresh coffee it was the cheapest instant coffee, mom decided to ask and the lady gave her a rude comment in return.. Fourth: The pupusas were fried! Literally fried!!!! Way to oily and just really bad taste like it had to much unnecessary condiments!! Fifth: The handmade tortillas were not FULLY COOKED! See picture below... mom returned it and they made us another order which took forever, by the time they were ready food was cold.. and the new order were even worse, again THEY WERE NOT FULLY COOKED!!! Honestly my list can go on and on about this place but I won't continue.. I just hope people read this and take it into consideration their chicharrí³n/Pork was not fully cooked either it was also watery! Wow!!! Just wow!! People can get sick, food poisoning is very dangerous! I don't understand how this place can serve food like this! DO NOT COME HERE! This is not AUTHENTIC SALVADOREAN FOOD, I'm Salvadorean myself and If you think this is good it's because you have not tried real Salvy food! I will not be back ever!

My go to place for pupusas in Highland Park

Fraser M

I went here a couple of times when in Highland Park for breakfast and enjoyed the papusas - good quick service, reasonable price, nice flavours, especially the loroco and chicharron, served with curtido and salsa. Great spot for a quick small bite to eat.

The caldos de pollo hardly had any vegetables, and chicken. Not a really hearty dish. The caldo de res was to salty and rice look old, customer service was bad

Christopher S.

Customer services was not great, attitude. The caldos (soups) was to salty, not enough vegetables or chicken, not a really heartly dish, first and last time here

Got the pupusas here, they are really good. Food seems home made! Which I loved. I will be coming back again for sure !
