I first had CoCos in 2015 when I was stationed in Japan, and it has remained my favorite food to this day. I have taken several trips to California and Texas with the sole purpose of eating it again lol Will be doing so again in August. Cannot recommend enough.

Great traditional Japanese curry! Well priced and prepared as you choose.

Looking for a simple and good Japanese curry spot? This is the place.

Brand from Japan with the same system in which you choose your portion of rice and level of spiciness.
They have a variety of options in terms of meat and even other dishes.

For me it’s always the same, and I’m happy with it: Chicken cutlet. The curry is good. It’s a very simple spot with great food.

I have tried to go to other places that try to promote their curry a bit too much and I always end up disappointed. Here you know what you get for a very fair price! So, I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for Japanese Curry dishes.

I do have to say that the portion of meat might be a bit light for some people (but again for $15, it’s fair). You can always add addons if needed.

Okay… quality here is becoming terrible. I’ve been a Coco stan for a while now… but not anymore.

Curry is still fine, but meat is either rotten or old. Had to spit it out… Not like I can skip the protein either. Get it together, hope the expansion isn’t getting to y’all head.

I added curry udon, sausage, and meatballs to take out, but all I got was pork cutlet curry. But I didn't answer the phone. Please give me my $40 back.

The food was good. No one greets you at the door. No one pays attention to you when you enter but they do glance at you.
You have to check yourself in using the qr code posted on a sheet of paper on the wall.
The counter is for wait-list. Do not try to cut the line and seat yourself.
Once seated the menus are on the table. They brought us water pretty quickly but we didn't know we were also supposed to order with another qr code on a little tent sign on the table because it was flipped until the server finally came by to check on us.
The food came out pretty quickly and looks pretty much like it's pictured. Don't be fooled though. That one bowl is a lot. I had the fried chicken with regular rice and my husband had the okra and tofu. We also ordered a side of fries with baked cheese.
Everything was delicious. But if you need something at this place you have to flag someone down.
So, food was good but service is mid. And the curry has peanuts.

As always, it was a delicious meal! Gotta go for the classic curry with omelette, chicken katsu, and spinach with veggie croquettes! I am satisfied 100% of the time I come here, although I'm usually at the Koreatown one. That's one is great, too!

Vegetarian options: The curry is vegetarian!

Dietary restrictions: The menu is very much custom

If you pay with a credit card, double check your statement. Server added more tip than what I wrote on the receipt. Very shady.

Pretty standard for a Coco Ichibanya, but something about the vibe of the space they occupy seems just a tad lacking in character.

At least there's more parking in this area of Sawtelle.

Excellent place to have decent Japanese curry chicken! We ordered chicken cutlet salad and katsu chicken omelet with rice. The portion was filling and enough for two people. The chickens are crispy yet juicy and flavorful. They also give you a side of garlic naan which is a good surprise!

The place is a bit off the center area of Sawtelle, so less food traffic and crowds (and wait time) .

Excellent food and outstanding customer service! I accidentally left my wallet at the restaurant, and the store manager, Anthony, went above and beyond by reaching out to me through email. I’m incredibly grateful for his help. Thank you so much!

Went here with a group thinking there would be vegan options. There was nothing to eat but fries, in a college town no less. Unacceptable.

Food is so good with a simple menu, cant go wrong with any options. Be careful with spice if you’re not used to it.

Food is nice, but their service has been consistently terrible. Messed up with my order at least three times in a row, tried to charge beverage that I never purchased, rarely apologizes for their errors.
