Had dinner with my friend tonight. I ordered the beef stew with veggies it was tasty but the beef was a little tough to chew. My friend ordered chicken and he was satisfied. The new sawtelle location is awesome and it was quiet enough outside in the patio.

Really enjoyed the options for my curry, and the flavor depth along with the spice level was on point!

The vegetable curry is really good & the Chicken Katsu is crispy and tender.

Love Coco, i will say that this place is more expensive than getting it in Japan like 2x the price. The food quality is still good and the wait staff are nice and attentive.

Love the classic chicken cutlet curry with cheese

Good curry at a good price.

The restaurant closes at 10 PM, but by 9 PM the restroom had already been cleaned and customers were no longer allowed to use it. This just happened.

Shouldn’t the management pay more attention to this? Isn’t this supposed to be a Japanese company? Has the whole “5S management” and attention to customer service disappeared?

Not sure if it's fair that I'm comparing this place to the coco's I used to go to while living in Okinawa but I feel let down. I was really looking forward to it because I missed it in Japan but the fried chicken curry I got was not the same as what I would get in Okinawa. There it was lightly fried chicken thighs that where cut up and juicy, here it was chicken pieces fried up flavorless and dry. The curry itself was fine (not exactly what I remember but good)

If you've never been, I recommend it, it's not bad but if you've ever had in Japan then I feel you might be a little let down like me.

This location has gotten busy. More serving staff is needed during busy times of the day. Service needs additional staff

This place is definitely overrated. All the food is really plain and lacks flavor. The cheese naan felt like eating a frozen pizza but even worse. 🤢 but at least it’s kind of cheap 😍 it’s basically like McDonald’s if they didn’t give a damn, banned seasoning, and served curry.

I had an outstanding experience at Curry House CoCo Ichibanya. From the moment I walked in, the place felt clean, vibrant, and full of energy. The atmosphere strikes a great balance—modern, fun, and effortlessly hip.

One detail that really stood out was the ambiance—the J-pop playing in the background, combined with the sleek, casual setup, genuinely made it feel like you were dining in Japan rather than just grabbing a meal in LA. It adds a unique charm that elevates the whole experience.

The food absolutely delivers. The curry is rich, flavorful, and completely customizable, which makes it easy to dial in exactly what you’re craving. Portions are generous, and everything came out fresh and well-prepared. Whether you’re a first-timer or already a fan of Japanese curry, it’s hard not to be impressed.

Service was efficient and friendly, keeping things moving without feeling rushed. For the quality and portion size, the value is excellent—you really feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.

Overall, 5 stars across the board. Clean, fun, delicious, and a spot that truly captures a little slice of Japan right here in Sawtelle.

Tasty curry, pork cutlets, and omelet. Spice level 4 was just right. Wish the curry came out hotter.

I was disappointed when I found out that they don’t celebrate birthdays here but everything else was fine. The food, the service. We came here for the first time to celebrate my Son’s birthday under my cousin recommendation, we had a good time.
