I was originally in the mood for the restaurant next door but since I parked in the space by the front door of Alma Oaxaquena, I realized I should try it. I am so glad I did! Julio, the owner, explained to me some of the dishes and I decided to get the Plato Carne Combo. The meat was very tasty, the sauces were incredible, the rice and beans were fantastic! I will be a regular customer for sure!! Thank you Julio for being in our neighborhood!
I cannot say enough about our most amazing family dinner at Alma Oaxaqueña. Julio (the manager) his wife Alma, and her mother, provided an outstanding experience that felt like we were in their family kitchen. Each dish, from the guacamole to the entrees (goat, fish, regional specialties) through the rainbow medley of Oaxacan fruit sorbets, were presented with an unbelievable sense of care, pride, and graciousness. I just recently discovered this restaurant. The owner Julio such a nice person. The food very tasteful. Reminds me on Sunday in Tlacolula, Oaxaca. Highly recommend you try it. I’m from Oaxaca and this place taste very authentic.
