Instead of going for the cheap special, I went for the brisket sandwich.
As one of the previous posters mentioned I understand fat makes meat delicious but my first and second mouthful - pure fat. I thought it was personal until I read that. Apparently this is the way it’s prepared so once I got to the meat, it was delicious as were the accoutrements.
I even stuffed a tip in the jar, despite not being prompted to do so on the credit card payment.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is my go-to place for lunch whenever I'm in downtown LA. The food is always good. I get the Westerner. It is their biggest sandwich. It comes on a hogie roll with your choice of two meats. I love the sliced brisket and pulled pork combo, and they pile it on. It comes with crispy seasoned French fries and a large drink. All for under $20.

Parking: Check out The Last Bookstore one block north of Dickey's and on the same side...
Hard to criticize a chain with so many locations, but I'll do my best. Fat makes meat tasty and juicy. That said, 25% of my brisket sandwich was fat.

Everything from the bun to the sauce to the coleslaw was very sweet. Too much so I would say.

The online ordering process felt like I was flying Spirit Airlines. Unusually cumbersome and long-winded just to order a sandwich.
