We sat at the chef's table directly opposite the wood fired cooking hearth. It was a thrilling meal to see, smell, hear, experience! There were 2 of us and we shared the dates and bread, killed chicory salad, the pork stew and the corn bread. We couldn't finish it all! Just delicious. I can't wait to return. More please!
We came last night to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and it was incredible. Amazing ambiance, spectacular food, and our server Jaydon was so great . $415 for two people but well worth it. The tuna toast was so refreshing and light, Cornbread was delish, Ribeye was beautiful cooked, but the star of the show though was hands down the Carolina rice. We will definitely be back! Also Shout of to the chefs at the counter they make it look so easy and they are so composed and calm it was great.
My partner and I had an exquisite evening at Dunsmore and very much enjoyed each item that we ordered on the menu, especially the knockout cornbread and the Carolina rice. Our service was equally fantastic and we look forward to spending another romantic evening there again soon.
Our first visit to this popular restaurant and we enjoyed our dinner. I thought my pork and green chile stew was great and we both liked the cornbread. My wife was less than impressed by her duck main dish; it was a little fatty and chewy but had a nice taste. The chocolate cake for dessert was quite rich, but tasty. Very good service in a noisy room. We plan to return.

Brian is truly one of the best chefs in LA. What a phenomenal experience. From start to finish, Brian and the entire Dunsmoor team are absolute pros. Every dish is deeply delicious, you can taste the care, intention, and craft in each bite. The flavors are beautifully balanced and everything coming off the fire is cooked to perfection. We ordered almost the entire menu for a larger group with a mix of vegetarians, pescatarians, and full-on meat lovers, and somehow everyone left completely satisfied, bellies full and hearts even fuller. Can’t wait to come back.

Incredible food, fresh and mouth-wateringly delicious! Service was impeccable and excellent. It is a bit loud there and you sit on these long communal tables, which is fun, but just a heads up it's not intimate! Loved it!
Overall a decent experience. Our server was very good, she was knowledgeable and explained what was in the offerings on the menu. The small plates we had, e.g. blue fin tuna toast and roasted oysters were excellent. The larger order of the Slippery Dumplings on the menu, not so much. It was very expensive ($53) for a dish that included dumpling skin (ie water and flour), chicken and ham. None of the ingredients in the dumplings stood out except for the black pepper it was seasoned with, there was no complexity and was downright bland. This is where the value proposition took a turn south. Don't mind paying for high quality ingredients and skillful cooking, but this didn't qualify as either. Desert was excellent, we tried the chocolate cake. We could taste the cocoa in the cake and fondant. It had the nice ethereal dark chocolate flavor with very minimal sweetness. Hand churned vanilla ice cream accompanied the cake and was a great complement. Very nice wine list of names that can't be easily found and would encourage any diner to try. Noise level was very high. Think lots of hard surfaces in the space; loud music, and patrons talking loud to have conversations over the din.
Reservations are hard to get for now, but completely worth the effort. Very friendly and efficient service, and the food is beyond compare. We had the albacore, the tuna toast, the INCREDIBLE chicken liver, the quail, the pork and green chili stew, and of course the cornbread. All interestingly presented, all super delicious; turned out to be so much, we took some home. And the have a selection of very interesting, reasonably priced wines; we had one from the Canary Islands, fantastic. We will be back, reservation scarcity or not!

Loved everything. The Chef's Counter was a really neat experience. Next time we'll check out the bar menu.
Everything was fantastic, be warned if you're a big eater you'll have to get more than one plate, the highlight was the abacore, and the cornbread those were the stand out dishes
I enjoyed the lovely staff who took great care of me on my birthday! Cornbread of my dreams :)
Great service. The ribeye was good, and we really liked the date pudding and the green chili stew. It would be nice if the steak was served on a cast iron or hot plate to keep it warm as we ate. I didn’t like the baked oyster (fishy tasting) or the quail (sauce was too sweet).

Came for dinner last night. 6.5/10 experience. Good service, overpriced, food was too rich and not to our taste.
Genuine, friendly service from front of house and our server, Rodney. The ladies manning the rear bar were a little too-cool-for-school while we waited for our table with friends. Wines by the glass/beer offering was decent.
Nice open space, warm, buzzy, gentrified cool with a fantastic soul/r&b soundtrack.
Rainbow trout was a quality piece of fish drowned in way too much oil and aioli.
Pork chop was delicious but a small serve with a ton of fat for $6X...
Cornbread was great and balanced.
Ribeye looked fantastic but tasted so so.
All in all a bit of a disappointment. Would not return on purpose given the style of food and pricepoint.
