My experience trying to attend an event here was incredibly frustrating. We arrived at the venue and literally could not find an entrance. All we saw was a locked back door and a parking lot that was completely inaccessible. We tried calling the provided number for help and directions, but no one answered. We ended up missing the entire show because we simply couldn't get in. This level of inaccessibility and lack of support is unacceptable. I'm extremely disappointed and would not recommend this venue.
Excellent experience GARBAGEBARBIE & GRANDSON. SEE them both of you can.
Ps tell Google maps your front door isn't down the sketchy back alley. There were so many people at the bac
one lady is really mean for no reason. i don’t remember her name but you’ll know when you have the disfortune of interacting with her. everyone else is a vibe but she really ruins it to be a horrible experience.
Worst line in town. Waited 2.5 hours in the line for HotDog Sundays and never got in. Avoid if you don't like lines. So many people waited 90 minutes
to 2 hours in line to just leave. Terrible line management.
El Cid has a simple menu but tasty food with a pricey tab ($120 per person), but I was there for the experience. The show was great and they could use an extra dancer to have 2 couples 💃 dancing.
Great monthly screenings and an eclectic atmosphere.
Valentine's Day at El Cid was an enchanting experience that my husband and I will cherish forever. Tucked away on Sunset Blvd, this charming restaurant offered the perfect blend of romance and culinary delight. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff and a cozy, candlelit ambiance that set the stage for a memorable evening.
We began our meal with a delightful soup and salad duo. The soup was a warm, comforting embrace, rich in flavor, while the salad was fresh and crisp, providing a perfect balance. For our main course, we both opted for the short ribs, and they were nothing short of spectacular. The meat was so tender it practically melted in our mouths, and the accompanying sauce was a savory masterpiece that tied the dish together beautifully.
Adding to the magic of the evening was a surprise flamenco performance. The dancers' passion and rhythm captivated us, transporting us to a vibrant Spanish fiesta right in the heart of Los Angeles.
El Cid is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where every detail is thoughtfully curated to create an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a unique night out, El Cid is a must-visit. We left with full hearts, satisfied palates, and a newfound appreciation for the art of dining.
They have great parties. This venue is epic!
So this is a cool old venue with decent sound.
Security is a bit on edge (maybe they've had trouble in the past?), which seemed at odds with the clientele on the night I went.
Drinks are the most expensive that I found in LA, on this trip, over $50 for 3 drinks (including a can of Modelo)? Maybe I'm just cheap, but we're not at the Ritz over here...
Honestly, the place is cute but you cant even enjoy the outside because there are some people smoking a chimney. I hate cigarette smoke. I dont want to smell like it. Its unfortunate they allow it all over the outside patio. For this reason i dont recommend.

Cut off a performance halfway through because they double booked. Kicked us all out at 9:30pm. Extremely disrespectful to not only the audience, but also the band of hard working artists. Additionally, the venue had multiple sound issues (further delaying the performance, no fault of the band). On top of all that, the staff was rude. Yeesh. Get your act together, El Cid. How disappointing.
Shitty experience performing here. Security had an attitude and the venue double booked so bands had to cut their sets short and fans were kicked out when trying to buy merchandise.
Such a versatile venue. Came here for Hot Dog once more and the atmosphere is definitely fun but it bottlenecks to get inside to the dance floor and outside. Additionally the restrooms were overflowing and the entire area was wet and no one was cleaning it up.
awesome venue. super cool and old, very historic. apparently it’s haunted? good vibes inside.
Been performing live music for 5 years and this is the absolute worst venue l've ever played. The inside is nice looking, but that's the only redeeming quality. Security was rude and hostile to all the bands, wouldn't even let us (THE PERFORMERS) bring in WATER BOTTLES......
WATER BOTTLES. They acted like all the bands were an inconvenience instead of thanking any of us for being a pretty decent crowd out to their dump of a venue on a week night. Bartenders wouldn't even look at you or say a word just grunts and sighs. We had to load in/out the back but the main security guy would get mad and aggressive toward anyone that did even tho that's literally what we were instructed to do.
Even above all that, the worst was that all the performers have to find sketchy street parking in feces-filled allies nearby when THEY HAVE AN ENTIRE BIG EMPTY GATED/FENCED PARKING LOT THAT THEY WILL NOT LET ANYONE USE. Will absolutely never play here again and will be making sure the other musicians in the area avoid this dump at all cost. Absolute joke of a staff.
