About Jay's Bar

Jay's Bar is a cozy spot in Silverlake, located in a strip mall on the corner of Fountain and Sunset. The bartenders are friendly and create delicious cocktails, like the Yuzu You with shishito infused gin. The atmosphere has a local bar vibe, making it perfect for hanging out with friends or a date. The J's Special Burger is a no-frills option, served with crispy fries seasoned with wasabi salt. The Soy Sauce Ramen is a must-try, featuring tasty broth and chewy noodles. Additionally, the menu includes dishes like Tonkotsu ramen, chicken Karaage, steak fries, and Japanese croquettes, all enjoyed in generous portions. Despite its small size, Jay's Bar has a great menu and attentive staff, with a bartender named Constantine who is known for making guests feel welcome. The drinks are strong and perfectly mixed, and he even prepares mocktails for those who prefer non-alcoholic options. This restaurant feels like family, where customers can enjoy good drinks and food without breaking the bank. It's a perfect place to unwind, especially on a rainy day, and those who sit at the bar may even hear horror stories from Constantine if they ask.

Jay’s Bar is definitely one of the overlooked watering holes in Silverlake. Nestled in the same minimall complex as Garage Pizza, it provides a warm, cozy atmosphere within its brick walls. Besides great drinks, it also offers delicious Japanese-American food until 10:00 PM. They usually have great movies playing on the Criterion Channel, along with sports. Also, on Wednesday nights they host Sal’s Trivia at 9:00, which is always fun. Come on down and say hi to the lead bartender...read full review
Great drinks with friendly service. Didn’t give a food review since I didn’t order any.
Jay’s has been through a lot as a neighborhood bar, but their food is authentic and delicious. I’m a pescatarian and my partner eats meat. Jays has great veggie options (Veggie Gyoza, Jalapeño Poppers & Potato Japanese Croquettes). They also have great substitutes to their meat patty burger (veggie with cheese). The food is underrated and so so good! Highly recommend their ramen! The spicy veggie ramen is my all time fav (w/spinach noodles). They have awesome craft beers,...read full review
