Would be better if everything wasn’t so awfully overbaked. Please Google pain au chocolates color in France and compare it to your ridiculous dark pastries. The same with sourdough bread. The overbaked skin is bitter and not tasty. If you keep it a bit shorter in the oven to get a golden brown color not dark brown color it would be so much better.

I've never been a croissant guy, but here, I'm a croissant guy.
Go with the pistachio. Your mouth will transcend.

Delicious pastry! The bake goods are fresh and yummy. The price is on a higher end imo but they taste really yummy. I got the raspberry fairy and pistachio croissant.
Plenty of table and bar seatings. The main room can get a little loud. If you want to have conversations, I recommend their other section or the bar seating for calmer and further away from foot traffic.
Meter and street parking wasn’t too hard to find when I got there Saturday morning. I can imagine it gets hard though in this area.
Would like to go back to try more pastries sometimes!

Amazing neighborhood spot. Unique menu takes, all executed perfectly with attention to detail. Also, tons of indoor seating! If they had a kids menu it would be a 6/5 stars.

This place is the shit. We were in for one day so ate there and picked up several things to go. All good, several of the pastries were “best ever” type. Yeah, would go back.
My wife and I were visiting friends in LA and we were told of Friends and Family. We had the drip coffee, cold brew, each a pastry, and shared the brisket hash. The coffee was terrible. It was burnt tasting. The drip coffee was 4 dollars and 1 dollar to refill. So not worth it. The pastries were overbaked and hard. The worst part though was the brisket hash. It was more like a stew than hash. The brisket was bland and cold when it arrived at the table. I don't think they know how to brine meat properly or serve hot food. Over all it's awful and overpriced.

Perfect croissant, substantive and flaky. The prosciutto sandwich is good but also a bit dry
Good tasting breakfast burrito here. But if Iβm still hungry after a $17+ burrito, then itβs not really a good value. Itβs small
Always visiting this spot with my run club friends but never gave them a review which is long overdue. I always come for their quiche and croissants, which is always 10/10 satisfaction post runπ
This is my first time ordering their plate meal and decided to go for their scrambled eggs mushroom and spinach, the egg tho is so good! Itβs not like the traditional diner kinda clumpy scrambled eggs, itβs more smoother and easier to spread on the toast that came along with the meal. Super delicious! Would need to come back again for this dish! Highly recommend!

According to one of the LA sites this place has the best croissant (Sonora wheat) in the city. I enjoy the pistachio one myself. Part bakery, part restaurant, part take away - Friends and Family is a good place to relax and people watch.
Parking is strictly street and meter. Pastries are great. The steak hash is fantastic. Itβs a pricier establishment, but quality does match the price. One of the cool things is this place offers large drip coffees. Those extra ounces are greatly welcomed.
