This is a rant. I dined here once and it was delish, server not good at coursing though. But every time I order pick up I end up waiting an hour and a half to 2 hours. Pick up is at the back of the restaurant at a table that says don’t cross this line. I waited 20 minutes past my pick up no body came to table to ask for my order name. Luckily someone taking out the trash came out and went and checked on it. And he said they’ll fire it now. Why can’t they fire it when I order it? This happens every time I order to go.
15 minutes later I crossed the line and went into the back door where someone was standing there and got my name. My pizza was sitting on a ledge by the door the whole time. Very annoying. And the worst part was that it was cold. This is the second time in a month ordering to-go ruins it for me. And now I hold a grudge on Gra. And from today on I’ll tell all my friends it sucks and to go to DeSano’s instead.

Grá was one of the best surprises of 2024. I'd walked past this restaurant several times, but this was the first time I saw it in the evening after a yoga class and decided to check it out. I’d assumed it was a pretentious upscale spot, but it was anything but that.

Walking in, you're greeted by an airy, open space filled with an inviting mix of people—couples, maybe some on first dates, others who’ve been together forever, and friends gathering for a great time. At the heart of the restaurant is a shared table where patrons can sit together, creating an intimate, cozy vibe without feeling like you're in someone else's space.

The menu is outstanding—simple and demure but packed with incredible flavors. I even found a Mexican Coke there that I sometimes go back just to enjoy again. Beyond the food, this was hands down the best customer service experience I’ve had in LA. The hostess and wait staff are full of light and joy every time I go in; it wasn’t just a one-time thing.

Would I recommend Grá? Absolutely!

I love sourdough so was happy to find a sourdough pizza restaurant in LA. The Pistachio Pesto pizza was my favorite. Will definitely be coming back. I’m from the east coast and can safely say this was the best pizza I’ve had in LA!

4.5 stars —
My date and I ate for ~$80.00 (pretax and tip), including one starter, one pizza, two drinks, and two desserts.
The pizza (Mushroom) was the least special thing, but still delicious. The standout was the soy sauce caramel ice cream, which was super complex and a great way to end the meal.
There were a few things in the ambiance that were bittersweet — while the hanging plants and large tables were gorgeous, they were a bit awkward. The plants were hard to walk through to get to the second dining room/bathroom. And the table was a tiny bit wobbly.

Grá was so great. I was able to reserve a spot on the terrace for my friends and myself for my birthday. We ordered three different pizzas, and they were all great, but the mushroom pizza really stood out to the group. We fought over it, lol. One of my friends talked to the server and surprised me with a lit candle in one of their deserts. The ?, omg the bread was so good. It's a nice spot to being a date, too!

The interior and taste of this restaurant were so good. Especially the pizza was delicious, so I ordered one and ordered another one again. But it was hard to wait for a very long time to order food because the server or waiter was too busy. I came early in the evening(around 5pm on thursday evening) and there were only about five guests, but I sat on the corner of the big table i guess it is because there was not enough table? Not sure.

Sourdough pizza? I was not sure what to expect, but it was a gloriously tasting pizza, that is up there among the best pizza in LA.
The kimchi pizza, not for the faint of heart. I was not a fan to be honest.
The Margherita pizza I got was top rate.

A truly intimate dining experience that marries rustic charm with contemporary sophistication. With a focus on wood-fired fare, the menu celebrates seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, highlighting vibrant flavors in dishes like charred vegetables, artisanal pizzas, and tender cuts of meat. The restaurant’s minimalist décor and warm ambiance create a perfect backdrop for its thoughtful, slow-cooked creations.
