Great food and drinks. The cornbread is the most popular but it’s very buttery and powerful. The branzino is excellent and so is the short rib. It’s an excellent place to get quality drinks and dinner. Highly recommend

UPDATE: Half of my friends got very bad food poisoning after our meal, requiring trips to urgent care and the ER. DO NOT EAT HERE. The restaurant has not answered any attempts to contact them by phone or email.Original review below:Food was good but very small portions, and nothing was so amazing that it blew my socks off or felt especially novel. The real surprise: Truly appalling service. They took food away that I was literally in the middle of eating, more than once, and reached over me to clear things so intrusively that I was leaning out of the way in my chair. They were also rude when I asked where the bathroom was. The waitstaff asked about my allergies and then interrupted me when I was answering them, which didn’t give me much confidence I wasn’t going to be given something that could make me sick. They didn’t offer ways to accommodate my allergies, or suggestions of what I wouldn’t be able to order. It was a fine meal, but the whole thing just felt inexplicably hostile.Dietary restrictions: Staff was not great about allergies. See main comment.

Me and my wife went here as a last-minute anniversary meal. We didn't book but managed to get a place at the bar to eat. The service and food were excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I'd recommend the short rib beef to anyone that cared to listen. We sloped into the Old Man bar afterward for a final cocktail to finish the night. Drinks are a little pricey, if I'm honest, but the quality was there in abundance. I can't wait to go again.

Dining at the Hatchet Hall was lovely. The drinks, citrus salad, dates, roasted carrots, and dr. Pepper short ribs all exceeded expectations. Loved the twinkle lit patio area and that it was covered and had heaters for the chilly evening.

The front desk had us go to the bar to order but our table was ready within the service time of the bar. Its just a scheme, since 20% gratuity is included.

I’ve been to this spot multiple times and had a great experience, but I wanted to compliment Christine, the manager, and the staff working this past Easter Sunday for their amazing service. My 2-year old nephew was with us and got upset over a cut and started crying, and the staff immediately brought over napkins, ice and offered ice cream to help make it better. They went above and beyond to make sure he was okay, and we really appreciated it! Super fan of Hatchet Hall for life now!And all of this on top of incredible food and regular table service! We had nearly all the starters, several drinks, a few appetizers (charcuterie is a must), the citrus salad (a favorite of the table!), the elk and the short rib, and it was all incredible. We will be back often!Kid-friendliness: Five stars for helping our little guy stop crying! ❤️

Enjoyed a great family dinner here. Amazing bread and charcuterie board, a refreshing citrus salad and a delicious and perfectly cooked elk. Drinks were outstanding as well, my mezcal cocktail was exactly what I was hoping for. Our son had a minor accident and Christine was amazing, offering to bring out ice cream and cookies to make him feel better (it did the trick!). Can't say enough good things about this place and Christine! Thank you!

Incredible date night spot! Vibes & music were great all evening. Service was attentive but not overwhelming… would highly recommend!Of course we had the corn bread… it lived up to the hype! Followed that up with the Meatloaf & Trout which both had very unique flavors. We ended with the brown butter chocolate chip cookies & date cake… incredible!!Also the drinks are expensive but it’s LA so it’s to be expected… we really enjoyed ours.20% service charge built into total at the end of the meal!Parking: We valeted - $15 - very easy

The cornbread is a must, the shishitos added some nice complexity to the flavor profile and it was perfectly crispy on the outside.I'd skip the chilaquiles next time, they were bland- especially following the cornbread. The grit cake (not pictured) was good; rich and creamy. If I got that in the future I'd want a side salad or something similarly fresh/acidic to balance it out.

Really beautiful patio and a large bar with several different areas to sit. Spacious and not crowded even when busy. You could probably visit five times and have very different experience due to the charming corners of each room. Food was impressively savory. Must get the cornbread.

In LA for a month and our adult kids sent us to one of their favorite places, now it is ours too. Gorgeous restaurant with garden (covered) seating and a beautifully designed interior. We started out with the special Old Fashioned cocktails. Expertly mixed. Don’t miss the cornbread or deviled eggs. My fav thing was the winter citrus salad and the grilled squid with beans.
