Delicious food — the uni panna cotta, sprouted broccoli salad, and branzino were all EXCELLENT. But don't sleep on the bar program — HLAY consistently has some of the best and most UNIQUE drinks I've ever tasted.
Title: Disappointing Experience – Way Too Salty Across the Board I visited Here's Looking At You last night for a special birthday dinner with high expectations, especially knowing its reputation in the LA dining scene. Unfortunately, the entire experience left us disappointed. The food overall was overwhelmingly salty – to the point where we had to ask for extra bread just to balance out the flavors and finish each dish. The sauces were so heavy-handed that our tongues were practically going numb. The biggest letdown was the 30-day dry-aged steak we ordered for $140. While the quality of the meat was excellent, the preparation was the worst I've experienced at a restaurant of this caliber. One of my friends took a single bite and couldn't take another. I personally have dined at countless high-end restaurants in LA, and this was far below what I expected from a place with such buzz. I politely brought this up to our server, who offered to bring a to-go box instead of sincerely addressing the issue. She said she would inform the manager, but no one ever followed up with us. That made the situation feel brushed off and unacknowledged, which added to our disappointment. As for dessert, we ordered the salted caramel mousse and again were hit with overpowering saltiness. It felt like more of a culinary experiment than a balanced dessert. We couldn't even get through the first bite. This is my honest feedback in the hope that the team takes it constructively. I'm genuinely curious about the culinary standards they hold themselves to because the execution and flavor balance were far from what we expected.
Chose HLAY for to propose to my now fiancé. 100% was the right move. Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Recommend Ubering.
Had an excellent meal started off with a Caesar salad that went into chicken liver pate then we finished our meal with the Bronzino, which was excellent!!! Love this !!
This is the best restaurant in LA, bar none. The food is immaculate, the vibes are perfect, it's always an adventure and always a night out. HLAY Forever.
Amazing service; exceptional food! One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had.
This place is a neighborhood gem. I have been going to Here's Looking at You since 2017 and it never disappoints. This time around I enjoyed the ribeye steak, chicken liver pate w/toast and a salad. The steak was a perfect medium rare, the accompanying mushrooms were tasty and hearty and its reduction sauce was wonderfully rich and a perfect complement to round out the dish. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Just another pleasant overall experience. Thank you!
Waitress and waiters were great. Music was good. Food was mediocre at best. When we walked in and were waiting to be seated, we were looking through the large window into the kitchen. One of the cooks was making something in a saucepan. She used the utensil she was stirring with to taste the sauce, then put the SAME utensil back in to stir it again. Pretty gross. We should have left but didn't. Steak tartare and chicken liver weren't bad but weren't that good either. The toast it came with was burned and the burned taste was a turn off. Caesar salad was really good. Half chicken was okay. Brocolli was good. Overall, I don't think I'd want to go back for that experience.
Been eager to try this place ever since they opened in Koreatown, and tonight was the night! We ordered the spicy Caesar salad, steak tartare, prawn toast, and frog legs. My personal favorite was the frog. It was my first time trying frog and I would’ve believed if someone told it was chicken. Every dish on the menu is so unique, offering a refreshing departure from the usual offerings at other restaurants. It really makes this spot stand out. Glad we made a reservation in advance cuz the place seemed to be packed within a very short time.
Parking: The valet fee is $16.50. Quite higher compared to other valet parkings in Koreatown.

Came for a late dinner, asked for a quieter table in a corner in the reservation due to my hearing disability. We were instead seated in the middle of the restaurant near an extremely loud table of people nearly yelling. When I stepped out to take a break from the noise, there was an intimidation by one of the staff to leave so we took the order to go. Won't come back.

Look at the menu ahead of time if you plan on going. The menu is very limited. We really wanted what they had on the happy hour menu however, that did not start until 8:30 and we were there at 7:00. Drinks were amazing especially the Mai Tais.

I've been eyeballing this place for a while after passing by so I was excited to finally try it! Overall very delicious flavors and drinks, a little on the high end pricing but worth it.
Just two critiques:
- Chicken was slightly overcooked on the fry, the ends were dry and a little burnt- would've loved more ube corn bread for the amount of chicken, there was no option to order more
- amount of tables felt just a little bit squished together, and it was quite loud together with the rock music choice, felt a little chaotic for the intimate vibe

We really enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. Very loud between music and guests. One negative is we told them we had to be at the Wilton theater, like many other guests and we waited a long time for our last dish. It came when we should have already left. So we had to eat it in a rush. Otherwise I would definitely return excellent food.
This is a great place to visit when in LA, it is situated in Koreatown.
