My fiancée and I scheduled two lanes for my Birthday. She gets a call the night before saying her reservation has been canceled due to maintenance (we already invited a group of people at this point.) however, I didn’t receive a call for my reservation being canceled. I try to call them but it is impossible to get someone on the phone there. When you finally reach someone you are met with attitude. I’m sure they gave my fiancées reservation away. This place ruined my birthday.

This establishment employs an incredibly non-customer-oriented staff. Our friend was denied entry by a xenophobic security guard because, apparently, it "seemed" to him that our friend was drinking wine outside while on a phone call. The manager turned out to be just as clueless and unprofessional, acting like a complete joke. The result? Our group of 9 people walked out of this disgraceful place.

We absolutely do not recommend this place if you want to avoid horrible service, illogical and discriminatory behavior, and a complete lack of professionalism. This place operates like a dumpster fire of incompetence and prejudice.

Here’s a tip: invest in training your staff or close the doors. Customers deserve respect, not arbitrary nonsense and hostility.

Filled out the form, called and left a message several times. I got a response call from Natalie that she will send me an email. Never received an email or did she say snail mail lol. In
any case, we didn’t get a confirmation of our request. So we went axe throwing !!! More fun !!!

It opened in 1927 and has 10 lanes and wow the history is really nice to see. It’s expensive at $35 to $70 per hour and $18 to $25 per hour during the day certain hours and days. Plus you have to rent shoes at $7 a pair. Bathroom doors have doctor names from back in the day and they have lockers on the inside. They have a bar and some food also. Street parking only. Bring ID in case they check. Only thing is if you are on the wait list for a lane, and they said it would be 1.5
hours, make sure you check in frequently bc they might not call you when a lane is open. It was a nice experience to see history but for the small amount of lanes and the wait and the price and staff not being as attentive, I would not return.

The atmosphere is nice, it has an old time classy vibe to it. There is also a pool table and the restrooms are upstairs. The only bad thing about it is that the floor is not leveled so when you are bowling the ball will go sideways. Other than that it was a good experience, but honestly if you want to actually have a good game of bowling I would recommend another place.

I had heard rumors that the very woke 1933 Group, which forced it's employees to take the jab and wear masks during the plandemic, had replaced a lot of the older staff at it's locations with brainwashed snowflakes who would never question the rules - no matter how ridiculous.

With the exception of security, the Highland Park Bowl staff was largely stuffy snobs wearing N95's. One bartender, in particular, had on not one, but two masks! As expected, he reeked of entitlement. Even when we tried to get his attention, he ignored us as well as any other patron that was not covered in piercings or wearing a beanie. A few folks had managed to corner him and got orders in, however he immediately closed their bills without asking if they wanted anything else. Unacceptable.

Some locals, who called Highland Park home long before these soy-brains moved in, were seated nearby and watched as my group became more and more frustrated with the staff. They sympathized with us and related similar experiences at other spots owned by 1933 Group.

When I mentioned being surprised that so many staff were wearing masks, one of them said "it has nothing nothing to do with viruses. It's now a statement. It's part of their uniform - like nose rings and blue hair." Sad.

Foods great! Service not really, short staffed and probably under paid
Bowling is affordable and worth it.
Great decor

Not a bad place to come and hangout with a group of friends. Place was very vintage looking which gave it character. Now because the place was going for a vintage look I am sad to say that it too reflected the wear of the place on the bowling alley lanes. They aren't very well kept which makes it more difficult to bowl. Food was good, decent. I must say the burger was pretty good. Drinks were also good. Bi would go again. Parking is in the back. Service for a private party was not that great. Guy attending us would forget or not come around too often though.

Cool spot. Great vibe. Really wish they would refurbish and oil the lanes. 1 lane for 1 hour is $100 with reservation fee and 4 shoe rentals. Too pricy for bowling to be an afterthought. It was odd that tip recommendations on the receipt include the bowling and shoe rental fees. Food/drinks and bowling should be different transactions.

Amazing venue. Was able to get a lane first thing on a Sunday. Food was delicious but the waitress that was taking care of us was probably one of the most unfriendly service staff I have encountered in years. Delivered drinks to the table, spilled a little beer and didn’t even look up from the floor to say sorry. Also saw her deliver menus to table by walking up, tossing them on the table and walking away. Another negative is we sat up on the side which asks you to order via QR code. If you are looking for points from your credit card or BILT, don’t do this. This is via a third party and they will not honor it even though you’re sitting in the same room eating the same food.

I love the retro vibe and the fact that the building is almost 100 years old. I highly recommend making reservations as the wait-list can be over an hour wait for a lane. Albeit I will say that making a regular reservation can be difficult. Took me a week, an email, 4 phone calls and a voice mail later to get through to someone (I had tried to leave them a message as advised when I booked through their website but I never heard back from them and forced me to try and keep calling them). It also costs $20 to make a reservation. There's a parking lot around back, but it gets full really quick. It was full when we got there that we ended up parking on the street (free on Sundays). I booked one hour each for two lanes for a Sunday afternoon and their hourly cost was $35 an hour between 12PM-4PM. Shoe rental was $5 each person, the total cost was about $135 for 6 people. For the experience and history vibes alone, it's worth coming here at least once, but just know, the lanes are kind of beat up and not polished properly that it doesn't have the smoothest ball run. The balls provided also aren't labeled by weight so you have to guesstimate which ball to use. You also can't input your own info for lane play, you have to let the front desk know and they'll input it for you.

A cute bowling alley with a dash of pool (billiards), bar, and a lot of tables, like a coffee shop. I'm told that it is a very old alley, which was modernized a little bit but still kept the old look and feel. Has 8 lanes, so be prepared to wait for hours before getting a chance to play. Overall, it is a very cute location with friendly staff. Good service, parking may be a problem, not advised for anxious bowling players who want to start playing asap.
