Civil Coffee Reviews
Nice place to chill, nice back patio too.
I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Civil Coffee on our interview date.

Best flat white I’ve tasted.
When my band was recording in LA, we came here on a former Highland Park local’s suggestion. It was so good - we came back everyday even though it was an extra 20 mins out of our way.

Civil Coffee is a charming spot with great coffee and a pleasant atmosphere. The Nicaragua coffee is a standout, and the pastries and breakfast burritos are excellent. The vibe is clean and minimalist, creating a nice environment to relax. With friendly service and ample indoor and outdoor seating, including shaded areas, it’s a great place to enjoy a quick coffee or a meal. The back patio is especially lovely on warm days, and the high ceiling inside adds to the spacious feel. The menu offers a variety of pastries, and the breakfast options include chilaquiles and breakfast burritos, with the latter being a favorite among regulars. The coffee, such as the vanilla latte and hot latte with almond milk, is consistently good and served swiftly. Plus, the presence of a restroom makes it more convenient than many other coffee shops. Whether visiting for a quick latte or to enjoy a delicious breakfast, Civil Coffee often becomes a favorite neighborhood spot.
