Shockingly fresh sushi (everything we ordered!) in this hole in the wall - highly recommend! Even did the high end sushi place thing where sometimes sushi is seasoned / specific approach to the sushi is recommended based on seasonality / preparation. This is going to be our neighborhood spot for sure. Don’t sleep on this place!

Visited from the midwest and was told to stop here. What a beautiful experience. The fish was so delicate and delightfully prepared. The rice was out of this world. A quaint and memorable experience in the big city!

Best suhi in LA. Tried sasabune, seabutter, and all the ones out there. This is the place. I hope it doesn't blow up as I'd like to be able to go without too much wait.

The food was okay. My main disappointment was the service and overall experience. The moment I walked in the server felt inclined to write down the prices for me, as though I needed to be informed to ensure I could afford it. The server then explained to me that there was a four order minimum for sushi, which wasn't an issue. The issue was that she refused to put in my order unless I put it all in at once; forbidding me from ordering what I like as my meal went on. She claimed the chef needed to know at once all I was ordering and I couldn't eat there otherwise. I obliged even though it seemed like a ridiculous request and it did not appear other diners were forced to do the same. I'll also note that the kitchen brought out all of the orders individually, suggesting the chef wasn't concerned with putting all of my order on one plate. Lastly, when I finished my last bite the server came up with the bill, saying that was all for me, as though she wanted me out. As the only Black person in the establishment at the time, this experience was disappointing. I will not be coming back or recommending the restaurant.

I went here tonight for my birthday. It was actually my first time here. I always drive by every morning and said to myself that I wanted to give it a shot. As others mentioned, if you are looking for a quiet, family-run sushi place with really excellent, traditional sushi, this is your place. It looks like it is owned by an older couple. We did omakase, and honestly EVERY sushi was 10/10. Service was 10/10. Awesome spot.

One of the best Japanese sushi restaurants in town. Expensive but excellent.

This a very small, so called hole in the wall. Old Japanese man behind sushi bar and his old lady right on his side and they producing freshest sushi you can ever taste. If you like authentic Japanese food with no Americanized rolls and you enjoy top quality raw fish this place is must to come. Less rice way more fish!!! See pictures.

This is Michelin Star worthy sushi. Eat here while you can still get a reservation. It'll definitely blow up soon. Small, family owned restaurant with deliciously fresh fish. Staff was incredibly friendly. No phones allowed - well phones are welcome but you can't play anything out loud or the sushi chef will yell at you. Someone dining at another table played something out loud and they said "no phone noise please". It was honestly a magical moment. I love everything about this place. We did Omakase. My favorites were the escolar, tuna and toro. *You must have a reservation to dine here. *Authentic sushi, no rolls

Good sushi for WLA now, at a reasonable price point. However, not as good as it was a few years ago under the old chef.If you like warm rice nigiri this is the place to go. Any of their seasoned or seared nigiri are excellent, especially with oilier fish and the warm rice.

Best sushi in LA. Sit at the bar, you don't get to choose but everything they put in front of you is impossibly good. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I ordered online and they gave me a time and when I got there I ended up waiting 30 minutes and the lady in the front was ignoring everything in general Really bad service

Amazing sushi. Incredible fish. Very traditional. A little pricey, but totally worth it! I believe it's family run and everyone is super nice.

First thing to know: you have to have reservations before you show up. Second thing: the fish is so fresh it melts in your mouth. It is the entire point of the place. Third thing: there's no kitchen staff, so it's really just sushi. There are no fancy rolls, no spicy tuna or crunchy cut rolls with eel sauce. Just fresh fish in all its glory. Fourth thing: it really seems like it's a mom and pop shop; they are hospitable and welcoming, and feels like you're being cared for by a family. We really enjoyed our experience we highly recommend it. They even managed to accommodate sesame and nut allergies.
