This is a helluva joint. No pretense, just good cheap drinks and chow. It's the kind of bar you'll find with ease in other cities, but not in LA. Makes me homesick.

I have came here multiple occasions. The service used to be good but this time around it was just awful.I waited an hour to receive my food when the waitress said 20 minutes. The strawberry lemonade and fountain sodas were super mid with no flavor at all just water down. I always tip at any restaurant I go to depending on the service. So I decided to not tip since the service was horrible and not only that I got 2 drinks that are supposed to be 4 dollars each and they charged me an extra 3 dollars on drinks not explaining why.Once’s I left the restaurant the lady came running out the door towards me saying “where’s my tip I need 15%or 20%” being super hostile and rude. I responded with I’m sorry but the service was horrible and had to wait a hour to get food when it wasn’t busy at all.Her running out the door was just the cherry on top to never come here again.Just super unprofessional and rude.

Neighborhood gem. Can't express the amount of attention the wait staff and owners gave me. The restaurant was a bit busy but everyone received individual attention as though no one else was around. The food is amazing and fresh and the bartender is now one of my favorite people in LA. She made my custom drink to perfection on her very 1st try. This will be my go hangout when I visit my Dad from now on.

*Extremely unsafe, deceptive, and hostile place. Avoid.
Our group was charged an undisclosed service charge with a non‑itemized handwritten bill.
There was no notice posted, and they still left a tip line on the card receipt, clearly attempting to double‑dip tips.
When I calmly questioned the charge, staff tried to forcibly take and destroy the receipt.
The owner then escalated the situation: he raised his hand as if to hit me, verbally abused me, and made a threatening gesture mimicking a gun to his head while saying words to the effect of “you’ll get shot.”
I felt genuinely unsafe. This was not a misunderstanding—this was intimidation and a threat. I have video and photo evidence.
Deceptive billing + attempted evidence destruction + violent threats = do not go here!!!
“The tequila tasted increasingly watered down—as if more diluted with each round. Also, avoid ordering double shots. When poured into a single straight shot glass, it only looked like a shot and a half. Definitely not worth the extra price.”

Unlike any other place in LA, a true classic and slice of LA history. Come for the $20 steak, stay for the $9 martinis. It's the opposite of cool. No hipsters. No polished and trendy everything. Just sit down, and have a jolly good time catching up with a pal.

Good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and old style upscale restaurant atmosphere. You feel like you're in one of those old sailing ships of the 1700 and 1800s. I will be back!!

Ordered “ captains special” some kind grilled fish with capers & lemon. Not expecting too much for only $13.99. But excellent fresh fish, with mash potatoes and perfectly steamed broccolini .
My favorite bar in Ktown.

Great lunch spot, big menu, many options. Full bar. Food is decent. Love the Fish and Chips, and the French Onion soup. The onion rings are really good. Turkey sandwich, tuna sandwich, both simple but good. Jukebox is nice.
Street meter parking or over-priced garage parking, be sure to get validated for a very small discount.

I'm leaving all 5s because this place deserves it. Noi is a very kind bartender to me and my best friend, Cris. The food there is great, from their buffalo wings (best sauce I've ever had) to their baseball steak. The atmosphere is very laid-back and casual. The age is pretty up there, so you're not met with any shenanigans and noise. HMS Bounty is a place to catch your breath from a long day of work or work if your job is remote. It's simple, respect the space, and it'll be shown back to you.

GO, NAYELI, GO !!!
The other evening was my first time at HMS BOUNTY. Nayeli is an excellent bartender. She is friendly, attends to customers quickly, has a good memory of customers' orders, and makes good drinks. She works fast, as I saw her run from one end of the bar to the other end to make sure that she got every customers' orders. I felt bad for her because she did not have any help behind the bar. She introduced me to two drinks: Brandy Alexander and Grass Hopper. Both were delicious, and now some of my favorite drinks. The prices are affordable, and the environment is friendly. I will be returning to this bar because of Nayeli's friendly and quick service.

The staff were pretty friendly. I ordered a ribeye (medium well) with the two sides (it said vegetables and potatoes), a salad, and a virgin Bloody Mary (it was my first time trying one and I asked if it was good they said yes). The drink was nasty (just wasn’t my cup of tea) and when I had told them, they didn’t offer a different drink and just said “oh”. I was still charged for it even though I didn’t touch it. The ribeye came out well done and very rubbery and small- it resembled cheap carne asada meat. It also had no flavor and it was served with fries (which were OK) and a singular piece of broccoli. As far as the salad goes the ranch was way too bitter to consume and the salad was just big chunks of the center of lettuce. The servers were for the most part sweet (with the exception of the drink) and they tried to charge me without giving me my salad. Combined with my two friends, the total came up to 85 dollars. I don’t think it’s worth the trip. The atmosphere is nice though.

Great ambience great food great prices
👍🏽👍🏽
The food was terrible. I have no idea why it has good reviews. The Caesar dressing had a fishy taste and the burger was flavorless. Prices are low for a reason.
