It’s a no nonsense restaurant that probably has the best authentic Chinese food in LA. One of the greatest hidden gems I’ve found recently.

Very salty and extremely basic. Nothing spectacular. The meat to vegetable ratio wasn't balanced and the entire dish was drenched in thick, brown sauce that overtook the flavor of the meat and vegetables. I ordered the beef with bell peppers and onions. I can't even remember if it came with rice or not because the sauce was so over powering. Overall, the food at Ho Ho's Kitchen was forgettable. Not a keeper.

DELICIOUS, AFFORDABLE CHINESE TAKE OUTAfter reading rave reviews about Ho Ho Kitchen on Next Door, I decided to check it out. I never would have noticed this dive, let alone walked into it, if I hadn't heard about it. This hole-in-the-wall is tucked into an old strip mall on the north east corner of Pico and Spaulding and looks like it hasn't been updated for half a century. Before 6PM, you can easily find street parking. The menu offers all my favorites for a few dollars less than where I used to go. Be prepared: this place only accepts cash! There is no room to sit, so this is Take Out only. Someone else was waiting for their order when I arrived in the tiny space, but a lady took care of me immediately. I ordered the Kungpao Beef which comes with steamed rice for $10.75. The woman unfolded a handwritten sign that said "Peanuts" to make sure I was okay with that. My meal was freshly cooked while I waited. Even though it was 3:30PM on a Tuesday, the place had a steady stream of customers. My food was properly boxed and wrapped, so when I got home, it was still hot. OMG. The Kungpao Beef was deliciously spicy, and there was plenty of meat. The vegetables were hearty, and the rice was fluffy. There was so much food that I ate the leftovers for lunch the next door. Thrilled to discover my new go-to for Chinese Take Out! Ho, ho, go!

Beware this place closes when they want to close; the 6PM advertised close time is mostly wrong. Always call before you go to make sure they are open. It's very wrong that they do this to their customers but it's good food for a good price. So as long as you know this, all will be good.

Hands down the best Wonton soap in Los Angeles. You can watch them make it eight in front of you, each dish you ordered. They dont take oders over the phone to many pranks, small mom and pop shop a bit of a wait but worth it.

Wow, how rude can you get. Came here to pick up quick bite, the lady at the front t was so rude and dismissive to me. Nope I will take my Money elsewhere.

Mom and Pop, hole in the wall. Just great simple mandarin food and one of the few remaining in the area, sadly (Tams Garden). Cash only.

Food is good and authentic Chinese food. They cook it for you on the spot! Beware, take out and cash only!

Hot, fast, and filling lunch for under $8 in LA. If that is not enough, that's a you problem.Ho Ho Kitchen is a cash-only hole-in-the-wall that cares more about serving grub than aesthetics. Carryout only. They have a lunch special that comes out to $7.75 after tax.I got the broccoli beef. Large portion of brown rice, regular portion of meat. Enough to fill up the average customer, not so large to necessitate leftovers. The beef was tender, and the broccoli was not overcooked or undercooked, which is easy to get wrong. The sauce was just okay, but good enough to make for easy eating. Not a gourmet destination, but when I need fuel on a budget, I'm glad for places like this.

Found this spot and ordered the lunch special. Beef and broccoli. Added the wor wonton soup. This is exactly the type of place I'd hoped for. Takeout only, cash only. No website. No current menu online or available to take home. Just one at the cash register. Limited English. Looks to be a two person operation, maybe a couple. The beef and broccoli was average at best, meaning not bad. I'll add the food was prepared fresh and hot. I took the soup home. The wor won ton soup was great! Really substantial and generous with the shrimp and beef. A meal by itself. Delicious.I'll definitely be back to try more. Worth a shot.
