I tried their new beef taco, as well as the chicken, potato, and brisket. I really wish that I can say they are great, but I cant tell. I received my order after 20 mins, after I asked about my order, and it turns out my order was sitting on the counter for a bit. The tacos where soggy and just slightly warmed. It made the experience, a bad one. The flavors are there, Im sure if my order would have been given to me at the correct time they would have been good.
Chicken & Brisket Taco + Modelo for $20+ is ugly. Tacos were bomb. Price could be cheaper. It's bittersweet honeslty. I trust the cooks because they're my people (Latino/Latina) pero price wise too much. Not bad for Tex Mex but could be better as far portion size which was weak. Like if I'm paying 5 or 6 bucks for 1 taco hook that shit up. Overall 7.1 out of 10.
Overall- the food is good and their outside patio is a good time. So why the 3 star rating? Those prices are a crime. For three of us it was $96 for a couple of small tacos, potatoes, queso, and 1 drink. If I’m in a city without tacos- then I can understand these prices a lot more, but this is LA where you can find some amazing tacos for much better prices (I know that Home State is trying to do something different). Found out about home state due to the old YouTube series worth...
