Despite my years of loyalty to this Thai restaurant, my recent visit left me deeply disappointed. Despite calling ahead within 20 minutes of their lunch closing window and being assured over the phone that we could dine in if we placed our order promptly (and they even took the order over the phone to accommodate), we were abruptly informed upon arrival (after 3 minutes since we called) that only takeout was available. The complete contradiction of what we were told was shocking and unacceptable. The lack of apology or acknowledgment of their part only added to our disappointment. Rude. The food quality fails to make up for the negative experience. We understand they have the odd closing hour 3-4 but have been welcomed to stay before; if they had just told us "no" when we called we would have gone elsewhere. Especially with FAR SUPERIOR local Thai options available (such as BKK 101, Celadon Thai, Ekkamai, and Night + Market), I cannot recommend this establishment to others seeking a satisfying dining experience. Additionally, the atmosphere is stuffy, and if you are seated near the fish tank, you have to endure an unpleasant odor. Furthermore, I urge the management to update their business hours on Yelp to avoid similar sloppy misunderstandings in the future. This oversight reflects a lack of attention and consideration, contributing to the frustration experienced during our LAST visit. It's disheartening to see that other long-term customers are also expressing similar dissatisfaction in their one-star reviews. It's apparent that these issues are driving away loyal customers, which is truly unfortunate for the restaurant.

House of Thai Taste is my go-to spot for satisfying my cravings for yellow curry and royal shrimp. The yellow curry is packed with flavor, with just the right balance of spices and creaminess. It's always a comforting and delicious choice. As for the royal shrimp, each bite is a delightful explosion of flavors, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs. The restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making every visit a pleasant experience. If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine that never disappoints, House of Thai Taste is the place to go.

I have never been to the restaurant and will not. Why? Does anyone noticed when restaurant is closed, chairs are flipped with legs up seating on top of the dining tables? How disgusting it is. People pass gas (fart) on seat cushion while eating there then residual transfered to dining tables. No matter how sanitized still thought of it is gross. Is a bad habit. People can tell store is closed with lights out. No need to rub the gas on dining tables where people place food.

A true gem/hole in the wall. Outside looks like no big deal but their food is SO GOOD. I got the pad se ew and my partner got the spicy noodles. They were pretty spicy but the kind the makes you want to keep eating. The server was so friendly and made us feel right at home. One of the people in our group was worried about the spice level but they were able to adjust it for us. What a great option! They also have a dinner special that's pretty worth it - an entree plus some grilled shrimp. There's plenty of seating inside, good for group or solo dinners. If you have a large group, they can push the tables together to accommodate. My friends and I will definitely be coming back here again.

Ordered thru grubhub. Food was burnt, not edible. I never post bad reviews but I had to this time.

We eat take-out dinner every Friday night. Sometimes from one of three Chinese restaurants, sometimes from House of Thai Taste. The food is quite tasty, well seasoned, spicy but not *too* spicy. Our favorite dishes are woon sen soup (chicken stock with vegetables, "glass noodles", bits of chicken and a shrimp or two), woon sen beef (glass noodles with bits of beef and veggies), and yellow curry. The only problem is that they sometimes get orders confused. Several times they have given me somebody else's order, or _mostly_ my order but with the wrong soup - tofu instead of glass noodles. I've learned that I should (1) order by phone, not over the web, and (2) pick the order up in person so I can check it before I take it away. Getting it delivered is an invitation for mistakes. In spite of the mistakes, the food is tasty enough to make it worthwhile.

I come with my 2 daughters every time I visit them in L.A. The service is absolutely amazing. The people working there always are smiling and have a perfect attitude. One of my daughters always orders the teriyaki chicken. She loves it and swears it's the best one you can ever have. My other daughter always orders the pad thai with tofu and she loves it especially because she is vegan and it is hard to find good quality vegan food let alone good thai food. My daughters always beg me to buy a side of virgin rolls. They love the mango and taro sticky rice. They say that the mango sticky rice is the best dessert however, it is seasonal so we can only ever get it once a year during my summer trip to L.A. The environment is very nice as well. Overall, this is not only better than Thai Garden but is the best Thai food ever.

Pros: 1) Nice environment (Thai atmosphere) 2) While some of the food was okay, others (like fried rice) were just acceptable. Cons: A 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. In addition, there is a tip on the receipt. I left an 18% tip. I'm not sure what the distinction between gratuity and tip is. Aside from the food and tax, I paid a 38% tip.

My wife and I have been going to House of Thai Taste at Venice and Beethoven for years. We have only a few restaurants in our lunch rotation so we end up going to Thai Taste pretty regularly, once a week or so. We're not going back. Today I received a spring roll that, in my opinion, was overcooked and unappetizing. I very politely told our server that it looked burned. You can see for yourself and agree or disagree with me. Anyway, I handed it to him and he carried it in his fingers to the kitchen. He returned in a minute with the same spring roll on a small plate. "Chef says it isn't burned, it's just crispy," he says, and he leaves. "How rude," my wife says to me. I say, "You know I can never come back to this place." "I know," she says. Whether the chef agrees or disagrees about the acceptability of the spring roll, it's not a good idea to alienate regular customers. It's also a health code violation to serve food that the server has held in his hand. So, anyway, it's "Farewell" and "" to House of Thai Taste.

House of Thai Taste is my neighborhood Thai restaurant and they never disappoint! Their Pad Thai is literally to die for, and their lunch/dinner specials are an incredible value. I recently tried the taro sticky rice for the first time and it was delicious, it was very filling and hearty for a dessert. I typically get mango sticky rice, so this was a fun new change for dessert!! They’re always so lovely when I go in, and their prices are so reasonable. They’ll always get my business!!!
