The Ikes shop on Vine and Sunset , sandwiches are amazing good, very expensive 20.00+ for a sandwich, the shop is way too hot, the problem is the staff is overheated, the process is set up so that u have to use a touch screen to order a sandwich, I dont like you touching those screens, especially after we went through COVID , ive tried using the touch screens , but find it challenging since the sandwiches are not laid out so that they are easy to find, I asked for help, but the staff is not keen to help, especially the black lady , maybe its the intense heat , but she barely acknowledged me, unsmiling, comes off rude, ive been here twice and each time I've walked out, because of the attitude, great food not so easy to order.

I've visited another location and decided to grab lunch. Got the Matt Cane with only lettuce as far as the veggies. This sandwich is delicious. The flavors all meld together. I was worried the Godfather sauce would be overpowering but it wasn't. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a few questions which they took the time to answer. Got the combo with soda and Zappa's Bayou Blackened Ranch chips. Not blown away with this particular flavor, not sure what I expected.

I tried, and I couldn't. I really wanted to like it. It was soggy and the flavor was bland.

Wow that sandwich was really good, I got a turkey sandwich on sourdough bread. I wanted a sandwich but didn't want to go to subway coz I got food poisoning the other day. It's so worth the price Here I'm definitely coming back for my sandwich cravings.

I don’t usually comment on appearances, but I have to say—there was someone there with short blonde hair and the most mesmerizing, beautiful eyes. It genuinely left an impression! Beyond that, the service was absolutely top-notch from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and professional. I truly enjoyed the experience and hope to come back again soon. Thank you for making it such a great visit!

We waited for the order for about 15 minutes and each time he told me 2 minutes and 3 minutes and wished me to pass, I waited for this order for 15 minutes, why would you give time for an order that I didn't know when it would be ready, nonsense

My first time ever coming to Ike's and let me tell you straight up, the best Sandwich I've ever had!!! I ordered the Madison Baumgardner since it said it was the most famous and it lived up to the hype! A slight kick but the streak and various sauces made it soo good! The service was super polite and courteous! The atmosphere was very nice, despite it looking small from the outside. Inside and outside seating and various options for drinks! I will definitely be back!

Food is great! We waited 30+ mins for one sandwich. The room was really smoky.

1 star — and even that’s generous.

My 5-year-old son was screaming in pain from a sudden stomach ache. I was alone — just me, my child, and our dog — in a panic.
I walked into Ike’s Love & Sandwiches (1517 Vine St, Hollywood) and asked if my son could use the restroom.
The woman behind the counter, with a cold blank face, replied: “Only for customers.”

Let that sink in:
📌 A screaming child in pain — and their response was “Buy something.”
📌 Under California law, you are obligated to provide restroom access in emergency medical situations — especially for a minor.

We didn’t even use the bathroom. I stood in this disgraceful establishment, splashing cold water on my son’s face, trying to keep him from passing out.
Then I drove him straight to the hospital.

I wasn’t begging. I’m well-dressed, clean, respectful.
But you know what I did?
I threw $20 on the counter. Not because they earned it — but because I refused to grovel for basic human decency.

This place utterly failed the most basic test of compassion.
If this is what “Love” means to Ike’s — I don’t want to know what “Hate” looks like.
Never again. And I’ll make sure others know.

Update: After my review, the manager personally contacted me, resolved the situation, and generously added $50 in reward dollars for sandwiches. I appreciate that he took the time to understand my perspective and make things right
