If you’re a coffee lover, definitely give this place a try.
They really know how to brew specialty coffee right. This is the kind of coffee you should be able to drink completely plain and still enjoy. It’s not too bold, not bitter, and you can actually notice different layers of flavor in the cup.
I know there are other places in LA doing this style of coffee, but in my opinion Intelligensia is by far the best one.

Just want to shout out the staff here. I watched a customer accidentally spill her coffee and everyone came together to clean it up. A barista came out with more towels and offered to make this customer a new drink. The energy was so positive and sense of community was strong. Kind place.

I rated 4/5 for food because I am gluten free and they had delicious donuts I could eat. However needed to say that it is not safe for celiac due to cross contamination and sharing of tongs on all pastries.

Stopped by here for some coffee while exploring the silver lake area. I got some miso something latte which was one of their specials that was surprisingly delicious and well balanced. Pleasantly surprised by the drink. There’s seating both indoors and outdoors and it seems like the perfect cafe to chill.

Only been here once. Ordered an iced avena latte, which was quickly ready and tasted good. Reading another review complaining about their draft lattes made me wonder if this was also one because it seemed to be ready instantly, ha!

Lots of good seating (both indoor and outdoor). Fairly clean. Noise level can get loud, but good enough for many to work in.

Mary Lou sandwich was good. Not the best value, but good enough.

I’m disappointed they don’t ask/offer/encourage people to have their drinks in for-here ware. I get that some customers say exactly what they want the first time they order, but it’s a coffee shop: lots of people are half awake before their coffee and can use a nice reminder. Also, if they offered for-here ware more, then it would be nice for them to reduce wasting single-use items.

EDIT: realized they don’t have any recycling nor compost bins.

I have been coming here for years and it has always been great, good people, food and service. Recently asked for a latte and got some premade drink from a draft. I asked for a new one made like a real latte (shot of espresso with milk) and got so much attitude from this one barista (girl with glasses, brown curly hair and never smiles to clients). I ended the conversation by thanking her for the new drink and walked away because I didn’t want to continue fighting. I come back today for a latte again and she yells at me. I have never been treated so badly by a barista ever. There’s one guy who works there (with a mustache) an absolute sweetheart, smiles at everyone, asks how your day is going, I mean the nicest person, he needs to train her because she is awful to paying clients. Never going back there, too bad because besides her, the place is great.

Super nice vibe and chill staff. Coffee is always top notch and consistent. Left my visa card there once and called an hour later and the barrista had it set aside for me.
