So tonight Javier’s was a big let-down. I work nearby in Century City and this place has been a regular spot since it opened. It was always a decent Mexican dish for 3x market rate, but is also convenient and has a busy fun vibe.
Tonight my guest and I ordered two dishes that literally made us sick and possibly not even want to ever return. First, in my chicken enchiladas I nearly choke on a large grisly bone that was the size of pinky finger. My teeth were nearly cracked and in shock and that bone really freaked me out. We called the manager over and he recommended switching to two cheese enchiladas. Actually not a very good alternative. The cheese was hardened and the enchiladas were bland. My friend’s shredded steak taco tasted “Old and Rancid” and she might have eaten about 25% before not being able to stomach any more. We called the manager and he authorized the change order and said he will not charge for the boney chicken enchiladas, but put the two cheese enchiladas on, at $32. $4 less than the chicken ones. That $32 for 2 ala cart cheese enchiladas is INSANE!!
No refund, no free drink offer, no free dessert - nothing more. The manager said if he only knew how baad everything was, before we paid, that he could have done something, but then said maybe next time. Just look him up!!
Also, the place seems unkept, a lot less busy than usual, and this manager just seems like he is getting a large share of underperforming quality, on multiple fronts. Just, based on his body language and attitude.
For us… There will be no next time!

Waste of time... To crowded and employees did not greet nor acknowledge customers as they were entitled and not appreciative.

I love the atmosphere of the restaurant but for the price the food and service was very lackluster.

We sent back several plates in our party. Our steaks were under cooked in the middle and burnt on the outside. We went during mid day on a Sunday during a marathon.

Food and service was great. The atmosphere was less Mexican and more like a formal viking. None the less it was a nice change from the normal.

The service was not in line with the price. Delivered the apps with the entree so the shrimp got cold after I ate the salad. They had seated us out door close to a dead heater, it was cold. They didn’t clear the table or check if the food was good until the check came. House Salad was ok the shrimp was fine nothing to come back for. Eat the enchiladas I hear they’re the way to go

Hostess not very helpful. We asked for a table for 3 and she kept forgetting we already ask for a table. Manager needs to implement a better system for sitting system. Hostess seem confused and lost in her job.

I was roofied by the bartender here. Was simply drinking club soda and eating lunch. It was a very organized crime scene of which I successfully ran away from. I wonder how many other victims there are…

This restaurant is seriously the worst restaurant. I’ve been here a handful of times and I only come here because my husband likes to come here. But every time I’ve come here the food has been mediocre. let’s not forget, they charge an arm and a leg for the food. More importantly, this restaurant is not a family oriented or family friendly restaurant. They have a policy where they don’t allow strollers in the restaurant. If your child is sleeping, you either have to hold your child while you’re eating or you leave. So our entire family who is here to celebrate my husband’s birthday has to get up and leave. Such a great policy, we will never be back again.

Fun and exciting restaurant with great service. The food tastes fresh and packed with flavor. It's expensive for Mexican food that you can get elsewhere in L.A. but you pay for the dining experience. Great for large groups too.

My family and I went there on Monday around 4:00pm the restaurant was empty so they gave us a table with no wait the Host was not very friendly but, still they gave us a table as soon we get there when we finished our meals I was about to get a dessert for my kids but, we saw that they was setting up a party next to us so even tho we don’t know them we try to BE NICE and I told my kids I was going to get dessert for them at the mall even tho we didn’t spend not even an hour there so I took my little girl to the restroom and after few minutes later my mom find me in the restroom telling me the manager asked her to leave the table because they was trying to seat the party there. THAT WAS VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL if they knew there was a party why the gave us that table ? My mom told them we was about to leave and just waiting for me to come back to get our stuff and they asked her to choose any other table please., I don’t understand how they didn’t reserve or why having all this tables empty they seat us there .. honestly that day it was my BIRTHDAY I wanted to visit this place so bad but it didn’t even worth it, that was very rude.
Horrible service. We arrived and didn’t get sat till 10 PM. The restaurant closes at 11 so there’s only an hour left. After ordering the really bad tasting guacamole…The waitress came over and said we needed to order entrées because it’s their dining area. it’s not their policy we had to order some more food we ordered guacamole and because it was so gross we didn’t trust the food. So she then complained to the manager who came over and said we had to order food entrées because it’s a restaurant - So We just bailed place is bad vibes and Waitress and staff are super rude and was stale guacamole was old. Not to mention everything is overpriced $40 or $50 entrées for seafood enchiladas. Please go somewhere else.
