Mandarin House, also known as Jin Hung Gak, is a Korean-style Chinese restaurant located in LA's K-Town. It is well-known for its delicious Jjajangmyeon and Tang Soo Yook (Sweet & Sour Pork). The pork in the Tang Soo Yook is fried in new oil and served with a perfectly balanced sweet and sour sauce. The Jjambbong soup is full of flavor and the seafood and onions are cooked just right. The Samseon Jjambbong, however, received mixed reviews as some found the soup base to be overly greasy and lacking in seafood flavor. The Samseon Jjambbong's soup base was described as being full of hot pepper oils. The restaurant's Interval Jajangmyeon received less favorable reviews and was described as just "okay." The restaurant's 팔보채 (Sautéed Mixed Seafood) was a hit, but the mustard sauce served with it was not spicy, but rather tasted like the mustard sauce served with burgers or chicken nuggets. The restaurant's 간짜장 and 돼지고기 탕수육 (Pork Cutlet) were praised for their taste. Overall, Mandarin House offers a variety of Korean-Chinese dishes, with some standout options and others that may not meet expectations.
