John & Vinny’s delivers a modern and bright dining experience—completely opposite of the dim, opera-style Italian spots I’ve frequented in the past.
The open kitchen adds to the visual appeal, especially with the wood fire churning out flavorful sears on chicken cutlets. Still, the standout for me was the “Gem” salad with Calabrian dressing—crisp, fresh, and absolutely the highlight of the night.
The spicy fusilli followed, balancing the heat with a friendlier, more approachable flavor. The pasta leaned a little past true al dente, landing on the chewier side—likely a result of the kitchen running full throttle on a packed night.
Overall, it’s definitely worth the stop for a lively Italian Friday night meal.

Not far from LAX airport,
our first meal after arriving in Los Angeles.
The food was delicious,
and the service was excellent.
Our server, Katie, was very friendly.
It’s definitely a restaurant worth recommending.
The Mexican Jalapeño Pizza
and the Chili Fusilli Pasta
were both amazing!

So good! Pasta made fresh daily, pizza oven baked, and salad was well seasoned and topped! I also recommend the garlic bread! We went on a monday at 12 pm not one person in there perfect time to get some work done, while picking up a delicious snack! I highly recommend this spot loved every last bite.

I’ve tried twice and I can’t get into it. The most bland Italian. Their calamari is good though.

Went to dinner and were luckily able to be seated within 10 minutes. The servers were super helpful and patient when it took a couple of minutes to decide. The food was amazing and had decent sized portions.

I think the trick to this J&V location is coming at an off hour. I've been 3-4 times now and coming Tuesday around 5 was honestly best Little Nat's pizza I've ever had at any location - crust was perfectly crisp.
- Spaghetti Simone and spicy fusilli are my group pasta staples
- Mozz sticks are a pass unless you're with a group - not worth the price otherwise
- Little Gem is the go to salad, great dressing

Definitely one of my to-go for pizza and pasta, and still my #1 for Cavatelli. I first figured out about it when trying to find for dinner options around Brentwood and bumped into an article saying they're Kardashian and Kanye's to-go. So obviously being curious, I paid a visit and since then have been frequent visitor to their various outlets.
The Slauson one probably was the easiest to get seats, but early reservations would surely be the secure option. Most venues had similar ambience for me, neither too formal nor too casual.
My rotational list were:
Meatballs (7.5/10)
Ricotta Toast (8/10)
Cavatelli (9/10)
Ham and Eazy (8.5/10)
If you came in bigger groups, surely go for all and share. The meatballs were great starter for sharing, but could be pretty filling for two. Savory meatballs served in nice tomato-based sauce with toast as companion.
The ricotta toast was my option when I had brunch and wanna had sweet touch within the set. Creamy ricotta on toast, drizzled with honey, serving great duo of sweet and cheesy flavors.
Their Cavatelli was certainly my recommended pasta to have there with generous fennel sausage toppings, further elevated by extra texture from the breadcrumbs to enjoy with your al dente pasta. I did love the idea to mix this with kale, cause yeah you needed your veggie intake ;)
I did have some options usually for the pizza, from Roman Gladiator which was their kind of meat lovers to the Ham and Eazy which used to be named Ham and Yeezy lol. As the name said, it combined smoked ham with vodka sauce, caciocavallo, and smoked mozzarella. I loved how it featured sweet and spicy together with flavorful scent of red onions.
I had been there with different groups of people and so far none have said it's not great!

This parking lot is terrible. The food delivery drivers mess up the whole flow of the tiny lot. The Food is very expensive. Servers are children. Seating people at the bar so badly. The other J&V ran much better and consistent.
Restaurantji Recommends
Solid takeout. The jersey marinara pizza is my favorite. It’s a little annoying that they don’t take any modifications which limits the menu for me. Everything I have had, though, has been very good. Often, I order the takeout and the quality holds up well compared to the restaurant experience.

Came here for the rockys matcha collab, and decided to eat here for dinner as well because why not? I stopped coming to Jon & Vinny’s because I knew the serving sizes got a lot smaller and the prices went up. To my surprise it’s gotten worse - I’m writing this while I’m still eating dinner because the size of the cacio e Pepe is literally a joke!!!!! Will not justify $22 for this 4 bite size serving omg. Do better this is not Via Carota (and even that is overrated)

Went to this place last Friday, v it was absolutely amazing. We didn't have a reservation so we sat at the chef's bar, usually I don't like that seating, but honestly watching the kitchen crew work was fascinating. They each took so much care in whatever task they were on, it was awesome to watch. They took their time ensuring things were done correctly and carefully. Their pizza oven was really the star, but the guy cooking the pies was insane. He constantly checked the dough for an even cook and rotated each one slowly and consistently. The food was truly phenomenal and the service was stellar!!

The atmosphere was amazing. The customer service was great, but the food was trash! My wife ordered spaghetti and meat balls and the noodles taste extremely chewy. She complained it was either overcooked or under cooked. It was sticking to her teeth. Those fine people were graceful enough to exchange her spaghetti for pizza. Then Her pizza was burnt and greases. At this point she doesn’t want anything else. We came all the way from
Texas to taste food of low quality and over priced!
