The phrase “hidden gem” gets overused a lot in LA but there’s no other way to describe this place. Called ahead to reserve one of the two tables, and while on the phone the owner Jeff asked if we’d like to put the order in on the phone so they could start cooking it since it takes about 30 minutes to make. My husband and I had the most incredible meal at Jun Won Dak. The owner Jeff was so friendly and gracious and we were able to get seated at one of the two dine-in tables inside.

We ordered the braised black cod and wanted to try another dish and Jeff suggested the samgye-tang. He explained that the broth was full of ingredients and herbs from imported Korea. It was the most delicious samgye-tang I've ever had, the cornish hen was so tender and the flavors...

I mean, how special can a little Korean takeout place be? Incredible!
Go go go! And bring friends because not only is this food phenomenal, but portions are huge. Plus Jun Don and his mom make you feel so at home. 🙏🏻
