Every pastry I've had at Just what I kneaded has been excellent--so glad they have such high quality (and large-portioned) vegan pastries! I also really like this space. Frogtown is a quiet neighborhood and Just what I kneaded's indoor and outdoor seating is homey and relaxed.

Hidden gem that I would highly recommend if you’re ever in the Silver Lake area. They have recently pivoted to non-vegan options, but they have such good options and we love that they have continued to offer vegan options.

This cafe has an all vegan menu, with vegetarian options- the inverse of what you normally get. They have a beautiful patio where you are visited by lil birdy friends asking politely for crumbs. The menu evolves and there are different drool-worthy pastries daily.

My wife and I loooove Just What I Kneaded (the pop tarts are insane; the crunch wraps are a MUST!) and Justine's Wine Bar (all around one of our favorite date spots), but I'm writing this review specifically to rave about the amazing and most perfect wedding cake that Kneady Cakes/ Just What I Kneaded created for our wedding day!

Our cake was vegan and gluten free - we wanted gluten free since my mother is celiac (she was very grateful for a GF cake and she loved it!). The cake was moist and delicious! We were all very impressed with the gluten free option - There honestly was no difference in the gluten free and the regular cake. And it felt "lighter" to eat!

We opted for a lemon cake with lemon custard and raspberry jam on the bottom layer and chocolate with raspberry jam filling on the top layer. It was insanely delicious and beautifully decorated with frosting succulents to match the desert theme of our wedding. The Kneady Cakes team packaged it carefully and it was sturdy + easy to transport in an insulated box all the way to Joshua Tree.

We had a wonderful time with our cake tasting, which consisted of trying cake samples via 6 different flavors of cupcakes accompanied with jars of jam and custards. It was difficult to choose, but we're so happy with our decision!

The lower layer of our cake was 8" and the top was 6". We were able to cut about 30-40 slices, easy. For a 15 person wedding, it was a perfect amount for everyone to enjoy a few slices + we had extra to freeze for our anniversary. Everyone LOVED the cake (they are still raving about it!) and it was a highlight of the post-ceremony celebration! We are SO happy to have purchased our cake from Kneady Cakes.

We can't recommend getting a wedding cake(s) from Kneady Cakes enough! Worth every penny. We'll be back for birthday cakes in the near future. We are lucky to have such a fantastic bakery and such an amazing team of bakers in east LA!

No criticism of the restaurant. But BEWARE! They are closed the first of every month for a Depp Clean. I just found this out after a half hour drive to check them out for lunch, after reading the stellar reviews. Bad timing. Bummer.

Owner including dairy and eggs in their menu won’t be supporting anymore!

They sell eggs and cheese. No mercy for chicken or little calf. As vegans we need to Support real vegan compassionate businesses in the area!

You can’t beat the vegan options at this place! As a person who isn’t vegan I think everything tasted amazing! You can’t even tell. They also have gluten free options so it’s very easy to find stuff you’re looking for if you have dietary restrictions or just want to try something else.

Seating is a huge plus - outdoors. Very cozy and shady. A hidden gem!

This non-vegan freaking LOVES Just What I Kneaded. EVERYTHING here is delicious. We live on the west side but still make the trip to use them every time we have a party, so that our vegan friends can eat yummy desserts - but our non-vegan friends don’t know the difference! Highly recommend!

I came here for the first time after we found out my baby had an egg allergy and I had to eliminate them from my diet as well. I was desperate for treats and was shocked how good the baked goods are here. I am eating eggs again on occasion but still make as frequent as possible stops here. The staff is SO SO nice and the donuts are incredible. Have also loved the cakes, cookies and pop tarts!!!

Vegetarian options: All vegan

Dietary restrictions: Completely vegan

Kid-friendliness: Always see families sitting and eating together on the patio. One of the very few places they are happy to see a baby in Los Angeles

We had the Chilequiles and coffee. Both delicious. The outdoor area is nice and relaxing among the plants and provided some nice shade for our dog on a relatively hot day.
