Just hated the service. The waitress was very rude and impolite. Nobody didn’t take care of us when we entered the restaurant, so I went to take a seat and the waitresses talked very rude to me. I wouldn’t care much and would leave a negative review if that wouldn’t have happened on my birthday, but she kinda ruined my day.

Always delicious, always super fresh. The staff tends to be not so friendly, which is also very consistent. Their cold attitude comes off as rude which is the only reason I can’t give this 5 stars. Food is 5 stars. Staff is 1.

My friend and I have been coming here for years and have eaten here countless times. This was the worst and last experience I will be having here. I ordered 5 rolls and they gave me an extra one on accident without even saying anything. They then charged me for it and I didn't care but brought it up nicely and she said because you ate it I have to charge you for it. For the principle of it I said I didn't order it so it's not right to charge it and she was so hostile and weird about it. I left and my friend came back to tell her that it wasn't okay to be so rude and she said " you can leave now" . We didn't catch her name but she was blonde with bangs and extremely weird about this situation. I def won't be coming back to this location.

We have been coming to kazu in Westwood for 7 years now. There is a new maybe 35 year old blonde girl who calls herself the “manager” now. The chef accidentally gave us a 6th roll and he knew it was wrong. He called the manager over and she told him it was okay we saw the whole thing go down. So we waited for about 5 min until the roll was just demolished before we decided to just eat it. Then when we went to pay we told her we only ordered 5 and she said well your friend ate 6 so you have to pay for what you ate. I kindly asked her to remove it and when we started going back and forth, I explained to her that I watched her and the chef talk, she asked me leave. So I told her you’re telling me to leave because you know I’m right? She said you have to pay for what you ate and that we should have brought it to her attention. I told her im not sitting during my dinner counting my rolls and she said most people do. I said even if you knew it was a mistake you would have told us to eat it, so what makes the difference just take it off, it was a mistake on your end and she said well you knew so please leave. So rude and so disgusting. I miss the old Asian guy that used to work here that’s who you call a manager I don’t know who this beat lady is. Please find a replacement.

The roll was nothing special, way to much rice and the fish is as good as anything you can find in the sushi 🍣 box at your loco Vons or Ralph's grocery store. I don't understand the long wait times for somthing so regular and plan. The price is a bit on the higher side especially because it's 80% rice roll and 20% fish. tbh i will probably NEVER come back to this spot. For what this is i would give it a C- at best (just the quality of the food) the services was wonderful everyone was very polite and easy going chill environment.

chill environment mid food rude blond waitress
The manager is rude. He prefers to talk to others rather than Asians.
I’ve been to the restaurant several times. To be honest, the hand roll is good, especially the rice, delicious. However, the most recent time, there was a strange smell about the seaweed outside of the hand roll, which made my stomach running.
I should have rated it one star, but for all the kindness, I give it two stars.

If you're Asian, be prepared before visiting this restaurant as you may meet an uncaring manager. The waitstaff were friendly, and the food was above average overall. However, the seaweed did not taste right today and I felt unwell after eating it.
The manager's attitude was weird. We asked for the check three times in front of him, but he didn't respond. Extra plates were left on the table for a long time without being cleaned up. In the end, he only cleared it because the other table's dishes needed to be cleared as well. I can't say for sure if this is discrimination, but I could clearly feel that I was being ignored. Being forced to pay a 16% tip for such service is truly disappointing.

This place always has consistently delicious hand rolls. Low-key vibe, fun to go to if you’re just trying to have a meal alone at the bar.
