Wow, this place is really delicious. It's Hyeja. You should definitely go there. There are so many menus and every single one melts in your mouth. It's actually better than LA Kaneyoshi.
We really enjoyed our dining experience at Kenbey. The sushi is fresh and you can tell the chef cares about each piece he serves. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of 3 things. The first is that I didn’t like the sauce that came on the hirame and the sauce on the albacore with the slice of garlic. Second, we tried the Hokkaido uni, it was a very dark orange (so not the freshest - we should have gone with the Santa Barbara uni) and so bland and flavorless. Third, for the prices they could add some decoration.
I would still recommend trying Kenbey. The service was excellent and overall pretty good!

Good sushi! The service was a tiny bit lacking on our day. They forgot many of our orders and also brought some wrong dishes. The food was good!

The omakase wasn’t worth the price. The dishes that were good were truly excellent, but at least half the dishes were not to our liking.

They have the best sushi ever! A La Carte or Omakase but to be able to choose what you want and it’s all extremely fresh and good quality. Great beer and sake. They play good music and it’s all around great vibes. The service was also the best around. At the end we asked for Natto hand rolls (not on menu) and they made them!

Don’t follow the reserve link just call them, leave a voice mail and you would probably get a table that same night!! We were there on a Saturday night and it was completely empty except for 2 other tables. I suspect people are seeing the resy options not available for the weekend and thinking they are booked out!Everything we ate was so fresh and delicious and Kenji has the best Santa Barbara uni hands down. The server also recommended a bottle of sale and it was so good follow her recommendations. Definitely comjng back here again
