We are great fans of Katsuya, go to Woodland Hills about 3 to 4 times a month, encino about every few months. I like the menus at those two spots much better, bigger variety and much less expensive. Also Hollywood is much darker it was hard to see the menu even with the little table lites. No complaints about the food it was delicious. Perhaps the over priced menu was because it is a tourist destination or rent is very high.?
As with everywhere else, they've decreased their menu offerings and not necessarily with the best that they had pre-Covid. Still it's pretty expensive for not having a lot of choices. It's horribly noisy in the main dining room, but they've added more tables on the other side, so it's kinda crowded. Guess we'll take the noisy side vs the crowded side. We continue to go because they're close to the Pantages.
If you appreciate really good sushi, you owe it to yourself to visit. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly host who seated me immediately. The dining room is well appointed, with subdued lighting, and a great vibe. There is both table seating as well as seating at the sushi bar, both being very comfortable.
