Such a cute little vibe with street side tables for 2 and dimly strung lighting and candles. Fresh, delicious bistro-style seafood options. Oyster sampler with Pacific NW and Gulf oysters and the Steamed Mussels were delicious, and the pommes frites (French fries) may have been the best I've had. Skinny slices with bits of skin on the ends, super crunchy, not greasy with the perfect amount of savory seasoning. Will be back next time I'm in L.A. for sure!
Came for the wine and oysters, fell in love with the crab pesto gnocchi đ€€ the chilled gamay on the wine list was the cherry on top. Great recco from a local friend.
I visited this restaurant last night with five friends, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. I ordered the hanger steak for $55, which turned out to be a letdown. I requested it cooked medium rare to medium medium rare, but it arrived medium well to well done. After trying a few larger pieces, I decided to politely ask if they could grill another piece for me. I didnât want to create a scene since I was with friends, but the steak was truly subpar.
When the second steak arrived, it was cooked the same wayâmedium well to well done. I informed the server and requested the dish be removed from our bill. To my surprise, he returned and said they couldnât take it off because I had eaten too much. I barely touched the second steak, allowing my friends to taste it to confirm it was overcooked.
Things took a turn when the sous chef approached me in a condescending manner. I expressed my dissatisfaction, saying, âPlease donât talk to me like that,â to which she responded, âWell, how do you want me to speak to you?â The sous chef also said âitâs too expensive for us to remove it from your bill. I was taken back by the level of service I was receiving. After that, I asked to speak with the manager, who was also quite rude and insisted that I had eaten too much of the steak for it to be removed from the bill.
As a former executive chef and someone still working in the service industry, I was truly at a loss regarding this experience. It felt as though the hanger steak had been marinated, resulting in a cured texture.
My friends, who live just up the street and have been loyal patrons for years, all agreed that after last night, none of us will be returning.
This place fell off so hard. We live up the street and have come here for years. Theyâve raised the prices to a point where itâs borderline disrespectful. Especially when theyâre charging $55 for 4 tiny pieces of hanger steak that are drowned in an overly salty peppercorn sauce, a bland arugula salad and some cold fries. When I asked the server when did they change the price of the steak to $55, he gave me an incredulous look and excused himself to find a menu and double check what I had said. Food is mid, the host is clueless, but the servers are awesome. Get yourself together, management. Youâre making everyone else look bad.
Friendly server, tasty food. Also food and drinks were brought real quick. I like this place.
Not Good For What They Charge.
A bit expensive but Food & Service was great⊠but when I questioned an add-on charge for 2 cocktails the manager Andy came up with some bs excuse to justify the charge. At that point it became less about the money and more about his nasty attitude.
Cosy LA warm vibe. Lobster roll was lovely! I got the Connecticut one. I ordered a Paloma and it was a little strong for me but the bartender changed it free of charge which I deeply appreciate!
Great place

Best oysters we've had since moving from San Francisco! The raw oysters are super fresh and the broiled ones are a must try as well. We also tried the shrimp cocktail and the black cod etouffee, which were both delicious. Cocktails are great and the service is fantastic. We'll definitely be back.

Stick to their appetizers and avoid the fried foods. Ambience was cool, service was just ok. Ordered a dozen oysters which were delicious but one came out that basically had no meat. Fish and chips tasted good but was super heavy with oil as if the fry temp was not high enough. Their main fish dish was bland and oily with mayo as well. Ended up throwing up immediately after.

Cozy, funky oyster bar, with great menu, great cocktails, and friendly staff. Parking is challenging, but where in Silver Lake is it easy?

L&E Oyster Bar is such a great spot! I went for dinner on a date, and everything about it made the evening special. The place has this cozy, relaxed vibe thatâs perfect for a laid-back night out. The lighting was warm, and the whole space felt welcoming and intimateâexactly what you want for a date.
The service was spot on too. Our server was super friendly and made great recommendations without hovering too much. The food was definitely the highlight, though. The oysters were super fresh and came with different sauces that really brought out the flavors. If youâre into oysters, this is the place to go.
We tried a few other dishes too, and everything was top-notch. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly, and the presentation was great but not overly fancy. Their cocktails were also a nice surpriseâreally well done and a fun twist on the classics. Overall, it was just a great night, and Iâd totally recommend L&E Oyster Bar for anyone looking for a relaxed but memorable meal. Iâll definitely be going back!
