La Imperial is East LA in edible form-warm, soulful, and unapologetically flavorful. The chilaquiles in red salsa are a must: saucy, tangy, and layered with handmade tortillas that soak up every drop of goodness. The elote tamale? Sweet, tender, and wrapped in nostalgia. Staff is friendly and bilingual, and the vibe is pure neighborhood pride. It gets warm inside, but the flavors are fire.🔥
Wow, this place is a hidden gem in East LA. I come all the way from Beverly near The Grove (where I normally get my tacos). So you have to keep in mind that the drive from Beverly into East LA is not one for the faint of heart (I say this because everyone in LA knows driving is always horrible). Yet, this does not stop me from getting some of my favorite Mexican food in all of LA. When I tell you that I love tacos, is an understatement and this white girl knows her tacos, enchiladas,...
After trying so many different places to find the best tamales, I am choosing this place because the masa is perfect and the big chunks of meat, these are big tamales, they taste how a tamale should taste, I am giving this place 5 stars because everything about that tamale was the best, the sauce the meat is in was delicious, the masa is not dry and not watery, the meat is juicy.

Parking: It has a meter to pay for parking on the street
