While visiting Hollywood I was on the search for a coffee shop that offered different breakfast items besides the basic avocado toast, breakfast burrito or granola. I stopped in before heading out of town since it's not too far from the 101; plus they have a small parking lot. Gracias a diós that I am fluent in Spanish. Both of the employees greeted everyone in Spanish and appeared to not know much English. They have a large selection of fresh Mexican pastries and pan, plus some delicious looking cakes for a special occasion. For seating, there were tables and chairs inside and a couple out front.I first ordered the highly rated Iced Dulce de Leche Latte. As expected, the concentrate has dairy. I still had asked the employee if it could be made with oat milk, and he said it was not possible. When I received my drink it was a layer of the dulce de leche concentrate with 2/3rds of the cup with low-fat milk...it could have easily been subbed with oat milk (-1 star). Nonetheless, the drink still had a nicely bold coffee flavor with a hint of sweetness, yet not too overwhelming.As my breakfast, I went with a Mollete: half a bolillo with seasoned refried beans and cheese. This was the perfect size, had a little kick in the beans, and was something different than what I usually get for breakfast. The price was also super reasonable.The multi-colored conchas that come in a box of a dozen catch my eye. I couldn't leave without purchasing it for my family to enjoy. They were delicious, still soft and had plenty of flavor the following morning for breakfast.All in all, I would come back.

Very skillful experienceI ordered my coffees at 8 am and I arrived at 8:45 and they still didn't have them. I waited and they wanted to give me shells as I placed my order. They checked my order and realized it was coffee. I had to cancel it

Never returning ! ? I decided to purchase a tres leches cake for my son‘s third birthday. We even ordered some cute dinosaur decorations for the cake from Amazon.We ordered and bought the cake the same day that they made it. Or so we thought.When we took a bite out of the cake, the milk tasted expired, and the cake had a funky smell ?We made sure, but everything back . I can’t believe they sold us an expired cake.

Cute spot, but there was an odd burnt smell when I walked in. I ordered the flan, tres leches & a few butter cookies. The flan was decent, but the butter cookies tasted burnt, it was very off putting. They didn’t look burnt at all but tasted pretty bad. I think they need to clean out their ovens. I haven’t tasted the tres leches yet. Service was good.

This is by far my favorite La Monarca location. First, they have free parking which is AMAZING in this area. And they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The service here is always friendly and like you're talking to friends. The food is always great. I always end up getting more than I thought I would. Can't recommend it enough.
