The place is very nice but the food is horrible, the rice is all hard and cold, I really don't know, I recommend it!

The food was cold, the service was terrible and the beans were all frozen and tasteless. They should improve their meals in terms of flavors. I was disappointed.

My good friend had told me to visit this place on my trip to LA said it was one of his favorites growing up. After eating there I can see why. It was a busy day but our service was very nice and attentive to us. The decor here was beautiful and had such a next Mexican flair. I forget the name of my order but it came with half a chicken, asada, potatoes, rice, and beans. The chicken was soft and flavorful but the asada wow! It had so much flavor ive eaten this many time and many different place and this has got to me the best i have tasted. To top it off they had freshly heated corn tortillas. I highly recommend this place and cant wait to go back myself.

This is my go-to spot for Sunday morning menudo. The tortillas are freshly made my hand, and the cafe de olla is top tier. Truly an East LA landmark.

We loved this place! Very festive authentic Mexican restaurant serving fresh tortillas.

This place is a gem. Great Guacamole. Great service. Great atmosphere. We had a mixed grill which came with a little cup of soup, tortillas, rice and beans, que so fundido and some potatoes and onions. Enjoyed ourselves very much. Even enjoyed the musicians who came in from the street to serenade you. Old school.

This place was packed with people, and it took a while for us to get our food. Thankfully, when we got the food, we realized why it was so busy. I got the Enchiladas Suizas or Green Enchiladas and an Agua De Tamarindo. They gave us a little bowl of sopita as an appetizer, and it was so delicious; It brought me back to my childhood. My Enchiladas were perfect, and I even ate most of my beans (I hate beans, lol). The restaurant looks like a Mexican house with all the unique colors and wall paintings. It was such a good meal. The salsa they gave us with the chips was delicious and smokey, but the spice definitely crept up and lingered. The pricing was fair as it was roughly $45 for 2 of us. I would likely go again with more time to ensure we don't feel upset over the wait time for the food.

It took so much time to just get 5 dishes. The service is the worst. She rolled her eyes when I asked for a spoon. PLZ don't come they get the water from the sink and they don't wash the Cups And they just put flavoring to the drinks.

Unfortunately I had a TERRIBLE experience with the server! We visited on 01/03/2024 at 12:00 p.m. it was not too busy for lunch hour. First the server/hostess saw us and ignored us for a while, We stood by the entrance as the sign instructions stated to wait to be seated. So we waited, until the busser greeted us and led us to our table. He took our drink order as the server continued to ignore us. We asked the busser if we could have a different server, but he stated she was the only one. The server took orders and then resumed ignoring us. If it wasn't for our interaction with the busser, this would have been a total failure. Finally we decided to cancel our food and leave, by then it was already 12:46 pm. We traveled a long way in hopes of enjoying good food and joined the good reviews from others, but that did not happen.

I think I just had the worst dining experiences I've ever had in a very long time. Let's first off by saying that my intent is not to hurt the business, but to help it by giving my comments. We walk into this quaint authentic Mexican restaurant which I have been looking forward to experiencing for a while now. I hate to pick on several things about this dining experience, but it was overall really bad. I work in the food hospitality industry so I know what is a "standard" dining experience. We walked into this cutely decorated place. I love the cozy, homey colorful decor. It's funny that a place that has so much character has no ambiance. So sterile. Uncomfortable to say the least. All I heard in the room was conversation from the staff and from the kitchen. Please.... Ambient music in the background is a must in a restaurant! Suddenly, in this sterile quiet place, mariachi musicians approached our table. They immediately walked away, before i even had the chance to look up. What? Did they want a tip before they played for us? Confused. And still no ambiance from anywhere. There were maybe three tables in the small restaurant at the most. The server came over and took our order. No complaints with our server. My biggest complaint was about the food. It was beyond disappointing. The chips came out in a small dish, small salsa, and when the food came out it was under portioned, and beyond mediocre. My plate; One little taco, one skinny enchilada, and standard rice and beans. The soup that was served as an appetizer, the broth was tasty but the soggy noodles seemed days old and mushy with other noodle shapes thrown in. As for my dining companions plate of food; Ribeye and Shrimp... The piece of meat was well done and hard to chew. Embarrassing. (Reminds me of tik toks videos of "Dollar General Store" meat challenges) Definitely not acceptable to serve a premium cut of meat you call Ribeye, which shoe leather would have been comparable. Again, filling up space on the plate, the rice, and beans, 3 shrimps (with shells still on them, WTF!!!). And random boiled potato slices just to fill up space on the plate, I would guess. And I say filling up space on the plate is intentional. The pictures on the website on this particular item did not match the plate that was placed in front of us. I read several reviews before we dining there, and several reviews mentioned the poor conditions of the bathroom. Trust me, the problem is not the bathroom. The prices on the website do not match the actual price, and the quality and portions are disappointing. Pictures and prices do NOT match the prices when you dine there. I am not an expert on creating a website or even updating your business's website, but I would imagine you can update very easily. Again, I am in the hospitality industry, so maybe I just know too much. This dining experience which I thought would be a memorable experience could not be farther from what I thought "memorable" was going to be. And the cherry on the sundae was I was told there would be an extra charge on my bill because I was paying with my debt card. Are the owner(s) that cheap. I would guess so. No ambience, horrible quality of food, under portioned, and over priced, not matching the websites menus pricing, and especially the glamor shot plate presentation of all the food. Overall I left feeling like I was ripped off. I honestly wanted to fall in love with this place. Nope. We actually stopped at a fast food restaurant on our way home. We both immediately agreed that we should have just gone here. . . .
