Solid French spot in DTLA. Came here with a couple of friends having made a reservation beforehand, and we enjoyed a pre-fixe menu of 3 courses each (which was a good deal because we were able to try different things). Of the salad, escargot, and French onion soup, I liked the soup the best. The baguette that came with the escargot was delicious too! Of the beef bourguinon, mussels, and duck, I liked the duck the best for the crisp skin and juicy meat, though the beef was a close second thanks to its tenderness. I had the creme brulee for my dessert but I liked the profiterole better thanks to the generous amount of chocolate and ice cream. Note that the restroom is outside of the restaurant and has a security guard. Limited street parking or you can use a paid garage. There’s a bar connected to it for just drinks that looked cozy. Overall, a cute spot to go on a date or girls night out!

Ever since I came back from France I have struggled to find a restaurant where the food had the same quality as the places I went to while I was there. I finally found it with L'Appart. Much of the staff is French so it makes sense and they were very welcoming and attentive. I had the Onion Soup and Tartare and they were both delicious. The Onion Soup was flavorful and slightly sweet, the amount of cheese was well balanced, and the bread maintained its slight crunch without ever getting too soggy. The Tartare was also perfect and not at all heavy. Everything is also reasonably priced, especially for the quality of the food you get. I'm glad I finally found a place that takes my taste buds back to those amazing days in France πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

We went here last week and it was the best food we’ve had in a while. We ordered the lamb shank, the duck, mezze platter
options, escargot pizza, loaded fries, and three desserts. The wine list is fire, the vibe is romantic and fun. We were treated very well by the owner and staff. Big thank you to the whole restaurant.

Such a cool hidden gem in Downtown LA. The vibe is romantic, cozy, and upscale all at once perfect for date night or a fun excuse to dress up and hit the town. The live music and Wednesday jazz nights make the ambience even more special, and the wine bar adds such a nice touch.

What makes this place stand out is how warm and personal it feels. It’s family-owned, with photos of the chef, owners, and even guests on the walls, which gives it such a homey feel.

The food is absolutely next level honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We tried the escargot pizza and it completely surprised us in the best way. And the desserts? Insanely good. The chef was also so kind and welcoming. Such an amazing experience from start to finish.

During my visit to Los Angeles, I enjoyed an incredibly authentic French meal. The service and ambiance were both top-notchβ€”I highly recommend it.

A horrible experience from the moment we walked in. There was old, stale food just sitting out on the countertops and under heat lamps in trays, looking like it had been there for hours. The quality and presentation of the food were extremely disappointing. Honestly, it felt more like eating at a school cafeteria than a restaurant. The atmosphere matched the location and overall condition of the place. I should have known what to expect the moment we arrived. Definitely not a place I would return to or recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely meal and great service. L'Appart participated in Dine LA and we are happy to now know a new place to dine.

This charming bistro offers perfectly prepared French classics (beef bourginon, confit de canard, escargots) in a lovely bar and dining room environment in a DTLA arcade. The management and staff provide thoughtful service. The cocktail and wine selection is great,

Delicious food, incredible meals and a quality wine list to pair with it. Service was also very attentive and friendly. The duck and the boeuf bourguignon were amazing but the onion soup was UNBELIEVABLE.

The food was good, but the service was so slow that it caused some anxiety for what otherwise would have been a lovely evening out with friends. My husband and I both felt that they should have made an effort to try and apologize for the lack of service while delivering the check, either verbally or monetarily, but they didn't offer anything but the credit card machine. Always stressful to enter a tip in front of the staff, especially when the service was lacking.

Have come here a couple times. Both times, I have truly enjoyed the experience. Food and wine have always been great. Food can be a bit slow to come out but service is incredible otherwise, and the wait is worth it.

The restaurant was fairly small but the space seemed very comfortable. Nice location in historic arcade. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They explained about menu and let us know about special for dineLA. The items we ordered were very good and fairly generous considering the price of the special. The wait staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend it and will be going back. Also I forgot to mention that they had a nice bar area if you were interested in going there.
