I delivered corn to this place & it was filthy inside. Too filthy for me to enter & it smelled awful. No one spoke English so I couldn’t explain that their restaurant was unsanitary & with covid & everything else I wouldn’t enter their restaurant. They did not tip me double as they promised, in fact no tip at all. I don’t know what they serve but I wouldn’t eat anything from that disgusting place!!!

Ordered a plate of pupusas de queso and it came with a side of chips, salsa, and a spicy shredded salad. The pupusas were served fresh and tore apart in satisfying pieces, the cheesiness is pleasant and overall filling. The chips and salsa were nice to have on the side and the salad was good to have some greens to balance the diet. I also picked up some cookies by the front counter and they had a nice buttery flavor to them, very simple but delightful desserts after the meal. Location is difficult to access by driving as there are very limited parking spots. It may be wise to order ahead and have a friend wait in the car by the side in a space to pick up. Otherwise, it’s in a high traffic area so walking to this place is convenient. The staff are friendly, fast paced, and very kind. It seems most people opt for take-out but there seems to be plenty of dining space inside for anyone choosing to dine in.

Los Comales is a gem right where you would expect it to be! Honestly I had high expectations and they were met.
The restaurant is a little bit more of a hole in the wall than reminiscent of a slice of life in Latin America but it still has charm. Locals do love this place and the two women that were attending customers were so sweet! One of them seems to be in charge and the other was a server. The patrons really seem to like them and I can see why because they are friendly, polite and attentive.
You will always get great atmosphere here! The art on the walls is folksy and pretty but you've also got less charming things like marketing posters and such that take away from the flavor. There are TVs on the walls for soccer fans.
I ordered two pupusas revueltas con todo and a plate with platanos fritos, beans and cream. The pupusas were absolutely fantastic! The curtido was too! They are very slightly greasy but full of balanced flavor! The platanos fritos were ok. I prefer them more firm. The beans were good. I heard someone patting pupusas into shape when I ordered mine so likely you get fresh pupusas every time.
Meter parking is available nearby.

The best pupusas ever in Los Angeles. The restaurant experience is aesthetic and urban.
