Los Comales is a gem right where you would expect it to be! Honestly I had high expectations and they were met.
The restaurant is a little bit more of a hole in the wall than reminiscent of a slice of life in Latin America but it still has charm. Locals do love this place and the two women that were attending customers were so sweet! One of them seems to be in charge and the other was a server. The patrons really seem to like them and I can see why because they are friendly, polite and attentive.
You will always get great atmosphere here! The art on the walls is folksy and pretty but you've also got less charming things like marketing posters and such that take away from the flavor. There are TVs on the walls for soccer fans.
I ordered two pupusas revueltas con todo and a plate with platanos fritos, beans and cream. The pupusas were absolutely fantastic! The curtido was too! They are very slightly greasy but full of balanced flavor! The platanos fritos were ok. I prefer them more firm. The beans were good. I heard someone patting pupusas into shape when I ordered mine so likely you get fresh pupusas every time.
Meter parking is available nearby.

The best pupusas ever in Los Angeles. The restaurant experience is aesthetic and urban.

We walked in and were greeted so warmly! ?The food was amaaaazinggg especially the cheese & loroco Pupusas idk why but they were fire here. I couldn’t remember the name of a dish and the waitress was so nice and patiently waited for me to explain it (it was casamiento). Which was also fire. Def coming back ???

Parking: There's no clear signage for restaurant parking as it appears the adjacent parking structure is shared with other businesses and surrounding apartments. I only found out about parking structure once I found a difficult street parking spot and once inside the restaurant when I asked the server

I go here at least once a week. The pupusas are amazing and the service is friendly. The juke box can be too loud and their bathroom is kinda scary but the food and staff are all great. Sure it’s not fancy but what would you expect on 8th street in k town?Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Salvadoran cuisine, and on a budget.

I believe I was overcharged but it’s whatever to be honest. $40 for a yucca con chicharrón, a large horchata, and a sopa de res does not cost that but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. ??♀️ I just know everything comes back. Food was mediocre. The yucca came with no salsa de tomate and the curtido didn’t have much flavor. Can’t go wrong with sopa de res but the meat did have a lot of cebo. Though the server was nice. I’ll just stick to places I know already instead. Went here for convenience.

Smelled like sewer. Told the waitress and when we left because it smelled, she just started laughing with her coworkers making fun of what we said that it smelled like sewer. This place should be inspected and the employees should learn how to handle situations like these in a professional manner. Eat at your own risk, bad service and gross.

First time here, although my family has been here multiple times. My experience the pupusas are very good can't complain there. But the fajitas de pollo they were alright. The veggies were a bit raw it needed more cooking, but other than that, everything was good.
Parking: The parking is next to the restaurant is gated. Call before getting there for they can open the gate for you.
